Stamp with Fun Challenge

Back again - for the last time today.
I have been out in the garden all day today (gardening, not sunbathing) and I have caught the sun on my face somehow.
I went down to Kath's to have a look at her baby birds on the tele and they have now got all their feathers and look quite big. Sadly one of them has died and there is another one that is only small so I don't know whether it will survive or not. They are lovely.

Here is my card for the Stamp with fun Challenge - I hope you like it.

I hope you notice, Julie, that the Stampin Up punches have had quite a bit of use.

Sketch & Stash Challenge

Oooh it has been a full week since I last blogged - I don't know where the time has gone.

I went to a class last Saturday with Maddy to learn how to use the copics properly - I am still practising!! I find it so hard - is it me or does anyone else have a problem with them? I met Calvin Mouse who was enjoying himself amidst all the bundles of ribbon that Bea had brought with her - I bought loads of it, it was such good value.

I am going to the Hobby House tomorrow for a class with Bev, who makes such fabulous cards.

Here is a card that I have made for the Sketch & Stash Challenge.

hope you like it - back shortly.

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Hi there.
I have had a walk down to our Kath's today to have a look at her baby blue tits on the television. They are so gorgeous. It was lovely watching the mum and dad going in and out of the box feeding them.
She had been looking at my blog and said she did not like the magnolia stamp I had used because it looked like a pregnant angel - I suppose it does a bit.

Well here is my card for Sketch Saturday - using one of the Gorjuss girls, I really like this one - hope you do to.

I am looking forward to going to a class tomorrow on how to use the Copic Markers.
See you soon.

Just Magnolia challenge

Back again with a card which is just about in time for tomorrow's Just Magnolia challenge.
I don't really know whether I like it or not please let me know what you think.
Here it is

A while ago I visited a few blogs where people had done cards with blue backing paper which were digital downloads. I really liked them but have not been able to find the paper they used. Anyway I found this blue in my stash and also the blue that I have used on the next card which is for the Mojo Monday challenge.
I really liked this one.
thank you for looking

Papertake Challenge

Good afternoon everyone and thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a browse at my blog.
I went into the hut this morning and the bird had disappeared from it's "nest" - that meant it could be anywhere in the hut!!
I virtually had to empty everything out of there because it kept flitting from one place to another - hiding behind anything it could find.
Well I have set it free - it's foot does not seem to be so bad and it can flutter a bit but I don't know really whether it can actually fly or not.
When I came inside it was still hiding in the garden and I did hear it cheap which sounded a bit baby-ish so I think it is a young one. I just hope it will be OK.

Back to cards and here is my card for the Papertake Challenge.
I thought it was rather a nice sketch to do - thank you Dawny P.

hope you like it.

Cupcake Craft Challenges

Oh No!! I had really looked forward to doing lots of cardmaking today - my husband is away overnight so I thought I would have all the time I wanted to do my cards. I haven't made one yet!

The horrible cat over the road was in my neighbour's garden and when I opened the door to see what he was doing he picked up a bird and ran off with it. I went out the front door and across to his house and shouted at him and the bird flew (well kind of fluttered) under a bush. I managed to pick it up whilst the cat made all sorts of noises at me, and I brought the bird home. But then - what do I do with it? Nobody seems to have any suggestions except put it in a tree somewhere. Well I have put it in a bowl in the hut and I will keep it there over night now and see if it is still alive in the morning. I know that it has damaged it's foot but I do not know whether it can fly or not.

The next time I see that cat I will turn the hose pipe on it. Horrid thing!! It is not the first time I have had to rescue a bird from it either.

Anyway enough moaning now - back to cards - and here is my card for the Cupcake Craft Challenge.
I have used one of my new Stampin Up punches that I got from Julie yesterday.

well that's all for now, time to de-stress.

Stamp with Stampavie

Why is it that weekends are always so busy?
Today has been so hectic. After lunch we went to see David's Aunty Rene. I think I have mentioned her before, she is in a home and has dementia. It is her birthday tomorrow and she will be 87 but everytime we go to see her she tells us she wishes she could go "up there".

She asked us what we had been up to and we said we had been on holiday and told her where we had been and bits about it. Then less than 5 minutes later she asked if we had any holidays booked this year so we said we had just been away. "Oh have you, where have you been" she said. She is so lovely. It is such a shame for her being stuck in a home.

Our Kath rang to say that 6 out of 7 of the eggs in her bird box have hatched so she will be keeping me up to date with them. I don't know how long it will be before they fly the nest.

Down to business now and here is my card for the Stampavie Challenge - although, once again, I am not sure whether the stamp I have used is OK or not.

hope you like it.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Hello everyone - at this very moment we are having a bit of sunshine but I don't suppose it will be for long.
Last night everyone had gone out so I thought 'Shall I tidy my craft room or go for a walk?' I decided I would go for a 40 minute walk before Coronation Street. I set off and had a lovely walk on the back road - I saw a crow with something big in it's mouth but it looked like a bag or something. I saw, and stroked, a cat, I saw some robins and best of all I saw a bunny. It brought back memories of when I used to walk our Bess in the field round the back and there used to be lots of bunnies and I loved to stand and watch them.
It takes about 15 minutes to get to the end of the road and by that time it had just started spitting. I headed back home on the main road and now it was thundering and bouncing down. By the time I got home at just 7.30pm I was soaked even to my t.shirt underneath my coat and my trousers were wet through.

Perhaps I should have just tidied the craft room.

I am not having much luck this week. I decided to make a card for the Whiff of Joy challenge and I had this fabulous paper but, despite having almost every collection of markers you could have, I could not find the exact colour for the blue. I had tried it on different Whiff of Joy stamps and in the end I tried it on a Magnolia image and decided that it would be ok. So I made the card and was very happy with it but time was getting on so I thought I would photograph it the next day.
When I came to photograph it I thought 'Oh no not again!' I had used a Magnolia image for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. How stupid!
Anyway this is the card I made
and here is the Whiff of Joy Challenge Card.

I have taken this one further away so that Sonia can see that I have actually managed to get hold of a stand - I do not think it is as big as yours Sonia but I couldn't get one from the shop you suggested but I managed to find this one at my local art shop. Thank you Sonia for the idea.
Hope you like the cards.

Sketch and Stash Challenge.

I really love dotty paper and a while ago I went mad and bought quite a lot of Doodlebug papers that were spotty and stripey - but I never got round to using them - so I thought it was time to make a couple of cards with them.
Here is my entrant for the Sketch and Stash Challenge.
I would also like to enter this card for the Papertake Challenge which is to feature any animal on your card - so this fits in just fine.
thank you for looking.

Cupcake Craft Challenge

I am feeling a bit under the weather today.
Well I started with a cold on Monday - not that I am surprised after being so cold on holiday! I didn't get much sleep last night so I am a bit tired but also just full of cold.

Cupcake Craft Challenge was to make a card for a man or boy so here is the one I made - it could actually be for anyone really but I do like this stamp so I thought I would use it.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has left me comments, they are very much appreciated.

Stamp with Fun Challenge

I decided I would walk down to my sister's house at 9am this morning to water her tomatoes - it takes about half an hour to walk there. I thought I would be home for about 10.15am. On the way down I stopped to talk to a lovely lady, about in her 70's, who was cutting her privet with an electric hedge trimmer - and doing a very good job of it.
On the way back a woman dropped a plantpot and broke it so I stopped to help her pick up the pieces, then I spoke to the local policeman. I then stopped to talk to two more ladies off our estate and by the time I got back it was 11.10am. I put the kettle on and Keith from across the road popped over and had a coffee. By this time it was 12.00 and I had got absolutely nothing done. Then my husband has been home for lunch and it is now 2.00pm. The day has just gone. I have started with a cold as well which is not a surprise to me.

Anyway I had a go at the Stamp with fun challenge and it was not as hard as I thought it would be.
I have used digital papers and Whiff of Joy Stamp - and here is my card.

Sketch Saturday

Here is my second and final card for today.

This is the one that I coloured for the Stampavie challenge and then realized it was not one of their stamps. So I used the same paper as it matched the colouring.

thank you for looking and I will be back tomorrow with another card.

Cute Card Thursday

Well here is my first card for today.
When I saw this stamp I just had to have it - I thought it was absolutely brilliant. I made the card except for the sentiment and showed it my husband. He said that I couldn't possibly send that to anyone because they would be offended. I kind of agree but I think it is just so funny.
I showed it my sister and she said "You could put something like 'Does my bum look big in this' " and I thought yes that would be really good. So here is the card. I thought I would do it for Cute Card Thursday because the challenge is to do a card to cheer someone up - I thought this would do just that. Don't you agree? I bet it made you smile!!

Back from Crete

Well here I am - back from my holiday in Crete.

Before we went my husband told me that "it will be about 40 degrees you know in Crete". As usual I packed all lightweight summer stuff - strappy tops and shorts etc all the usual things you pack for a summer holiday abroad.
We flew to Heraklion and then got a taxi to Hersonissos (which cost 35 Euros!!). I could have cried when we drove up to the apartments. I could not believe that I had actually booked a place that was totally on it's own at the top of a hill. We had to walk 800 metres to the main road.
I really enjoy doing a lot of walking on holiday but I thought this was going to be a bit much.

After we had unpacked we decided to walk down to the front.
We had been told that the resort ran a bus down to Hersonissos but they were only about every hour so we set off to walk. Some girls on mopeds stopped us and asked if we realized there was a bus and we said we did but wanted to walk. "Nutters, nutters you're nutters" was her remark.

As we walked from the resort to the main road we kept hearing this tinkling of bells and there were loads of goats on the land surrounding the resort. I took a photo of this one that had climbed up the tree to eat the leaves. They were dead nice.

Well we trekked off down the road to Hersonissos - 2 hours and 1 blister later we had still not reached there so we decided it was time to get something to eat and then we got a taxi back - another 12 Euros.
The weather was not overwarm - in fact it was a little bit chilly.
On the Saturday we sat on the sunbeds and read. I put my new expensive suntan lotion on although I didn't expect to get much of a tan because it was not so hot and it was quite breezy. Guess what?? I got burnt - I was really, really sore all up the front of my legs and on my tummy and sides, I just could not believe it. The next day it was so bad I had to get something from the chemist for it.
Then on Monday and Tuesday we had two days of solid rain. We decided to hire a car and travel about.
Wednesday we actually managed to go on the beach and in the sea and then on the way back to the apartment we got stopped by the police because my husband had taken his seat belt off. They wanted to charge him 350 Euros so I suppose we might end up getting a bill for that any day now.

The apartment was quite nice but I felt like we had gone back in time. For anyone who remembers what life was like without central heating, can you remember how when you got into bed at night it was so cold you could hardly move? And in the morning you didn't want to get up because it was so cold out of bed?
Well no word of a lie, that is exactly what it was like.
My husband had taken a jumper
and I had only taken one cardigan so I ended up wearing his jumper round the apartment most of the time - well I didn't want to spoil my cardigan when I had to wear it for evening meal, did I??
Then on the Thursday we arrived early at the airport and there was only about 2 couples in front of us at the checkout. When it was our turn to check in the computer for our flight broke down!! Typical. So we then had to wait ages to check in. By this time the queue to go through customs had more or less doubled in size so we stood in that for a long time. When we went through the bleeper thing they pulled me to one side and frisked me and wanted to look in my handbag and then we had to get straight on the plane. When everyone was on and the steward tried to shut the door he had a lot of trouble getting it shut so I was half expecting it to blow open once we were in the air. Luckily it didn't - or I wouldn't be here writing this would I??
Anyway apart from all that I suppose we didn't have a bad holiday.
Just to say - Thank you to everyone who has left me comments recently, please keep on looking.
thank you.

Stamp with Stampavie

Another card that I made last night is the one below which is for the Stamp with Stampavie Challenge.
I got it all put together and coloured the Sugar Nellie Daisy Stamp and then realized that it had to be a Stampavie stamp. Silly Me!! I then found this stamp and thought I had better use this one instead.
It is so hard to get back into making cards when I haven't done any for over a week.

hope you like this one - I have used some digital papers for this card.

Papertake Challenge

I did manage to find time yesterday to do a couple of cards.
My husband and son had gone out for a game of touch and pass in the afternoon and then they were going straight to the pub afterwards so I was left with quite a bit of time to myself. Some of it I spent catching up with ironing but the rest was spent just making 2 cards. It took me hours to do them.

First of all with the papertake challenge I could not get the right shade of copic to match the paper - it still isn't quite right but I am afraid it will have to do. Then it seemed to take me ages matching the paper.
Anyway here is the result.

I used one of my new stamps from the Hobby House - it is a Whiff of Joy stamp. Thank you Jill for posting them out so that they arrived the day after I returned home - a nice treat.
