MARCH - OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

I know that we are nearly at the end of March but I forgot to say that
March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month.
I notice that Marks & Spencer are advertising the fact that March is also Prostate Cancer Awareness month - so I did tell the assistant that I thought they were being a bit sexist.
Anyway this is just a reminder to watch out for the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer - which is known as the silent killer because the symptoms can be mistaken for other illnesses and you often don't know that you have got it until it is too late.
Don't know if I will get chance to post again as I am off on holiday on Friday.
thank you for looking.

Green, Brown, Cream & Black

Hi

It's Saturday night - now you would think I would have something more exciting to do wouldn't you?? But what can be more exciting than crafting?

We have been to the rugby near Oldham today so I have just been uploading my photos to the rugby website.

I have a card for you today that I am actually quite pleased with - I love the colours.

I have used the sketch from LOTV Challenge

and I have used the colour theme from
Colour Create Challenge - which was (and the title of this post is a clue!) - Green, Brown, Cream & Black.

The bottom of her dress is a kind of creamy colour as are some of the flowers and one of the ribbons, and the sentiment is in black so I think I have managed to include all the colours.

It is strange but on the photo you cannot see any of the glitter on the dress and the wings but I can assure you that there is some on there - it must have been the light.

Tomorrow I am going to the Craft Show at Harrogate - I am so looking forward to it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Friday Sketchers

Hi everyone,

I am sorry that this is a fairly brief post today but I have to dash off shortly for a pedicure (before my hols)
I am then meeting my mother's cousin.

I am hoping to have a lovely peaceful evening because my son will be off playing football and my husband is taking his sister to Sheffield Hospital - her boyfriend is supposed to be having several operations today.
He got knocked off his bicycle just over a week ago and already has two arms in pot and further breaks to repair today.

Anyway down to business and here is the sketch for the Friday Sketchers Challenge

and here is my card

The papers are from Stampin Up and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking
must dash.

Value for Money...

Back Again - it is not such a nice day as yesterday so I might be confined to my craft room today!!
It's a hard life!!

First of all I want to say that I didn't notice until it was too late that, according to the sketch, the card I showed you yesterday should actually have had some ribbon or something across and I have forgotten to put it on. Sorry but it is too late now.

The card I have for you today is for Mother's Day which won't be long now but it is so unusual for me to be so far ahead of myself - I am usually last minute doing family cards.

Here is the sketch I have used

and here is the card.

Nearly everything I have used on it is from Stampin Up - except for the lace (and image of course.)

I am entering it in the following challenges:-
Friday Sketchers - which is the sketch that I have used by the very talented Rach.
Crafty Pad - which is to use a ribbon
Simon Says - which is Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - which is Anything Goes + glitter (there is a tiny bit of glitter on the rose)
Totally Papercrafts - which is to use Pearls and Lace - which I have done.

Thank you for looking and I hope you are experiencing better weather than we have here.
PS. Blogger just does as it likes, doesn't it??

LOTV Challenge

What a fabulous day it has been today - I think March and September are my favourite months.

I have spent all morning till about 2pm just washing out tubs and plantpots ready for the planting season.

We are going away on the 25th of March till 1st April to Tenerife (like we usually do) and when we get back it will be my great-nephew's birthday (his name is Ethan) on the Saturday and Mother's Day on the Sunday - so it will be quite hectic.
For once I am actually ahead of myself and I have made this card for Ethan. His daddy is the captain on a private yacht so I thought this stamp was very appropriate.
I am entering it in the Lily of the Valley challenge - which is a sketch.
I have also made a Mother's Day card for my Mother-in-law - but I will show you that tomorrow.
Thank you for looking

Pretty in Pink

Hi there

I had a lovely day out yesterday - I got the train to Doncaster again and met up with my daughter and grand-daughter. We did some shopping, had lunch out and Florence went in the Soft play area.

I got the train back again but my husband could not pick me up from the station and I had just missed a bus so I walked home (about 2.5 miles) and was totally exhausted when I arrived home.

Anyway I have a card for you which I have made to this Sketch.

and here is the card.

I am going to enter it in the following Challenges

Sketch & Stash - which is a Sketch and the new items I have used are the metal corners.

ABC Challenge - which is Pink

LOTV Challenge - which is to use Circles - the deeper background paper actually has circles on it and of course there is the circle at the left.
Stamp Something - which is "Something with Flowers"
Papertake Challenge - which is Anything Goes.
The papers I have used are from Stampin Up
The die cut from LOTV
The flowers and metal corners from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking
