I have been busy in the garden again today - spreading farmyard manure on my veg patch and hoeing it in. I have a massive blister on the palm of my hand with hoeing!!

Anyway I have still managed to find time to do two more cards.
The first one is for the Magnolia/Stampavie challenge

I used Making Memories Papers for this one,
and the second one, using the same stamp, was for the Friday Sketchers Challenge.
I used papers from Craftwork Cards for the one above.
I used Pro Markers on both cards.

Hope you like them

I have just managed to get this card done in time for tomorrow for the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

I am afraid the photograph is not very straight but you will get some idea of what the card is like.

The papers are from Stampin Up and the stamp is from Funky Kits.

What a lovely day I had yesterday.

I drove down to Retford to see my gorgeous Grand Daughter, Florence and my lovely daughter Claire and Florence was absolutely fantastic.
She is now 18 months old and is so amusing. She sits on the floor and does "Row, row, row your boat". She plays with her teddies and dolls and does this little crying noise (supposed to be the doll crying) and then she loves it better.
We walked into the town centre and she says "Hiya" to everyone who walks past.
I thoroughly enjoyed it - even if I did get stuck in traffic on the way home.

Anyway I have managed to do a couple of cards.
The first one is for the Mojo Monday Challenge and the sketch and the card are shown below.

The second one is for the Papertake Challenge and again the sketch and card are shown below.

Hope you like them.

Hi to anyone who calls by to take a look at my blog.

I am sorry to say that I have not done any blogging or cardmaking for a week. As I said last week, my husband went into hospital for a hernia operation on Monday and when I picked him up I was given all sorts of instructions, like he hadn't to drive for a week, lift anything for two weeks, play rugby for two weeks etc. But being the idiot that he is he decided he would go get up at 6.15am to go into work the very next day - just to supervise the jobs!! This led to a massive row so when the hospital rang the next day to see how he was I told them he was at work. After answering quite a few questions from the nurse she said that she would have to document it and if anything went wrong Mr. Gupta would not be at all happy. I told them that David said he had met me half way by not driving and getting one of his workers to pick him up instead.

I was in such a bad mood that I decided I would tackle clearing the loft out. Two days later and about 14 trips to the tip, the loft is looking much better. I now just need my son to come and take all his lego and old beano comics down to his house.

I have been so busy this week, firstly doing the loft Tuesday and Wednesday and then on Thursday I did the back garden and this afternoon I did the front garden. So I was absolutely fuming this tea time to find that in the 45 minutes that we had been out of the house some nice person had thrown a milk bottle at our greenhouse and broke one of the panes of glass (and the milk bottle) which had gone all in the border that I only hoed and weeded yesterday. I would love to catch them - with a baseball bat in my hand!!

Anyway tomorrow I am hoping to have the afternoon to myself to actually do some cards. The only thing is that when you haven't made any for a week or so you seem to lose your mojo don't you?

Thursday, 12 February 2009

Well I am back to blogging at last!!

"Our Kath" (my sister) called up yesterday and reminded me that I hadn't been blogging for a while, I was actually well aware of that fact but I just haven't had the time to do any blogging.

The reason is that I have been so obsessed with my computer for the last week or more.
For some reason, a few weeks ago, I suddenly started having problems with one thing after another - nearly every time I turned the computer on there was something else strange about it and it has really been doing my head in.

I seem to have been constantly ringing helplines and really all I get told is to take it back to factory settings and then reload everything again - so that is what I have done. It has been very stressful but I think I might have got it sorted now (fingers crossed)
Also last week both me and my husband had appointments at the hospital and I have had another one this week. Then the hospital rang my husband today to say that they have had a cancellation and does he want to go in on Monday for his hernia operation! So that means that I might be having him under my feet for a week or two, in which case I probably won't get much blogging or card making done (or anything else for that matter). I will be going mad!!!

Anyway I have managed to get a few cards done for Mother's Day and here they are.

I really like this rabbit stamp - it is from the Simon & Lola range of Sugar Nellie stamps available from Funky Kits

This is a stamp that I have used before, again from Funky Kits

and this of course is one of my favourite Magnolia Stamps, which I usually buy from Sir Stampalot.
Thank you for looking and I will try and get back with some more cards soon.

Well I can't tell you how absolutely thrilled I am today!!

No not because we have had loads of snow but because I have got another follower on my blog - Sonia. Thank you so much to both Sonia and Dawny for being my followers, it really does mean so much to me. Thank you.

On a more serious note - below is the Sympathy Card that I have made for my friend Indra.

Unfortunately her husband was diagnosed with the "C" word in August and the doctors didn't expect him to live until Christmas but he did and he died last week. He was 63.

I was also very sorry to learn on Sunday that Lily died the same day - she was 90. She was in the same Nursing home as my husband's relative, Rene. Unfortunately Rene has dementia but is perfectly well in her body. Lily was a lovely lady and joined in with any activities that were going on in the home. She had taken to her room and I haven't seen her since before Christmas so I am really sad that I did not get chance to say goodbye to her.
She once said to me that her and Rene would sit there and she would say "Who would you most like to see walk through that door?" and they would both say together "David" (that is my husband). She said he has such a smiley face that she looked forward to seeing him as much as Rene did. She will be sadly missed.

Thank you for looking - I am going to have my rice pudding now!!
