Challenging!!!

Hi

It is not such a nice day today here in Yorkshire, it keeps raining and is really quite cold - I have just turned the heating up a bit!

I have a card for you today that is a little bit different.
I saw the idea over on Monica's blog and thought I would have to have a go at it.
It is a twisted easel card.

Being a bit senile as I am, I ended up sticking it on the wrong way round and had to prize it off again as I had already made the maid part of the card ready to stick on to the easel bit - if you follow me!

Unfortunately I then ran out of ink on my printer and haven't been able to get to the shop for another so, being in a rush to enter my card in the Just Magnolia Challenge, I have photographed it as it is without sticking the sentiment part onto the bottom half of the card - this is getting quite hard to explain but I am sure you will understand.

Here is the Just Magnolia Sketch

and here is the main bit of my card

and this is the rest of it...

I know it does not look anything special just left like that but at least you get the gist of what it is supposed to look like.
I think I need a cuppa now!!!
Thank you for looking.

Totally Gorjuss

Happy Tuesday everyone...I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

On Saturday my husband got a game of rugby (we were short) and he actually managed to score a try - brilliant - the first time in a couple of seasons.
At the end of last season he broke a couple of ribs.
I got a load of abuse from the other team's players because I told them, very nicely, that they had just been beaten by a 55 year old. They told me to shut up and stop mouthing off - which I wasn't doing, just stating a fact.

Back to the subject in hand -I have done a card for the Totally Gorjuss Challenge which is this sketch.

and here is my card - again using James the Bear.

I am sorry, I hope you are not getting too bored with James but he is so useful. I wonder what is in his cracker??

The papers are digital downloads and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking - I must really try and get some cards done now.
I have had too many distractions the last few days so now I must catch up.

Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge

I don't know why I always seem to be last minute with my challenges - but here I am on the last day to post my card for the Crafts4Eternity Challenge. The Challenge is to include a Christmas Tree.

Now the greeny coloured paper that I used is by Bo Bunny and it did actually have Christmas Trees on - but of course you can't see them because they are covered up!!
Anyway Tilda does have a Christmas Tree so there you are...
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have been playing about with my photos trying out different things with them - the trouble is it is so time consuming.

I have been to have a look at a new camera today for taking my rugby pictures - I have had one published each week in our local weekly since the season started.
Haven't got the camera yet but it could be any idea for Christmas!!!
Thank you for looking.

By one - get one free

Hi
Today I have one card and two challenges - hence the title.
The first challenge is the Secret Crafter and it has a theme as the challenge - and that is ORENTAL - so I have used the Chinese Tilda.
The other challenge is the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is a sketch.

I have used so papers from Stampin Up that I have had for a while so I don't know if they are still available or not - but I thought they were quite oriental as well.

I have coloured the image with my Copics and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment is computer generated.

thank you for taking time to look and thank you to my new followers for deciding to follow my blog.

Thank you

Late Again!!

Just a quick post - I am last minute again!! I just had to show you this card for the
Creative Inspirations Challenge because I really like it - it isn't often that I do.

The Challenge was the sketch below

and here is my card...

I love the colours but my husband prefers the Red and Green.

Thank you to all the people who have left me comments - it is very much appreciated.

Tilda meets Ribbon Girl

Santa's little helper! That is the stamp that I have used for today's card and I have coloured her with Copics.
Here is the full card.

I have used the sketch by Dawny P for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge

and combined it with the theme from The Ribbon Girl Challenge, which was to use Red and Green.
The papers are my new Christmas ones from Stampin Up which I got from Julie last week and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, as usual.

thank you for looking

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Happy Monday Morning everyone - hope you have all had a good weekend.
Our Rugby team actually had a win this week - for a change!!

The Challenge over at Lili of the Valley this week was a lovely sketch from the very talented Bev.
I haven't used a die cut this time I have used the rubber stamp - James with Presents, it is such a good one to colour.
the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
and here is the card
The papers are last years from Stampin Up.
Sorry about all the spacing - I have been messing about with Photoshop but still can't get everything as I want it.

Papertake Weekly Challenge and ABC Challenge

Tilda with Christmas Tree...

This weeks Papertake Challenge is "3 of something".
Fortunately I had "one I made earlier" that I could use for this challenge. It has 3 different Magnolia papers on it - I bought them last year and really like them but don't seem to be able to get hold of them this year.
The Challenge at ABC Challenge is to use lots of flowers - so here they are....

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I usually glitter them but didn't bother this time.
And here is the full card......
The lace is some that I got from our local branch of Boyes and I have coloured the image with Copic Markers.

I have just been to visit my mother's cousin this morning - she is 78 today and I just can't believe her.

For one thing she has been in the Red Cross for 50 years and still goes on duty for them sometimes at special events where she has to be up really early in the morning.
She has recently lost two stones in weight not only by dieting but by going to the gym!!
She also wanted me to have a look at her laptop (yes she can work the computer as well) and she has just bought a digital camera that does movies - ready for when she goes to Prague next March. She is going there with her nephew to show him where her brother got killed during the war.

One of her favourite things is playing on her Nintendo DS, and she has a mobile phone - all this at 78 years old, isn't that brilliant??
That's all for today, thank you for looking.

At Last....

....I have managed to get hold of one of those illusive Hanglar stamps that everyone seems to use but aren't available to buy anywhere in this country.
And here she is ...

I found a Challenge blog called Lovely Hanglar only and the challenge was SEASONS. I thought seeing as she looks dressed up for the WINTER that I would use this stamp.
Unfortunately as I loaded these photos I noticed that I have not done a very good job of the shading below her feet - it is a bit lopsided - I have now rectified that but was too lazy to take and edit more photos!!!

I have combined it with the sketch from Truly Scrumptious so I am entering it in that challenge as well.

Here is the sketch

and another photo of the card.

The papers are from Pink Petticoat as is the Sentiment and I have coloured the image with Copics.
Have a nice day!

Sketch Saturday

Only a quick post today to show you my card for the Sketch Saturday challenge - which was a sketch.
Here is the sketch

and here is my interpretation of the sketch.
The papers are pink petticoat and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Before I go I must tell you that I am aching a bit today because, with it being a nice day yesterday, I decided to rotavate (don't know if that is spelt right) my veg plot. It is easier than digging but by the time I had finished it at tea time I had blisters and white finger syndrome (is that what they call it when you have been using power tools?) Anyway I did enjoy it and managed to get my winter onions in as well so it was a very productive day.
thank you for looking.

Ovarian Cancer challenge

What an awful week I am having this week.

First of all I had something arranged for every day this week - which I don't really like to have.
Our appointment yesterday was cancelled then today my daughter was going to come up but she was not so well so I really missed seeing my granddaughter.
Tomorrow I am going for a pedicure, Thursday I was supposed to get my hair cut but I have had to cancel that because we have to go to yet another funeral - what is happening to everyone! Three out of four of the people who have died have died from that awful "C" word!!!

Anyway it is my husband's birthday on Thursday and it has been a nightmare making his card. I had ideas what I wanted to do but none of them turned out right and I have ended up making an easel card - which I will show you tomorrow.

Today's card is for Ovarian Cancer Fundraising. My sister sent me a link to a blog called "I can't draw but I can do this" and I am entering the card below. Please take a look over there - I know it is a bit late to enter but as I have said before there is always a lot of talk about Breast Cancer but not about Ovarian Cancer.
I was very lucky that mine was detected early and if it had not have been for the Ovarian Cyst pressing on my bladder I probably wouldn't have found out about it!!

Thank you for looking

Saturday Secret Crafter

Back Again with just a quickie post.
Here is my card for the Saturday Secret Crafter challenge.

I can't decide whether I like this one or not and I think perhaps I should have put the flowers somewhere else instead of with the sentiment.
The papers are from Basic Grey.
Hope you like it

Stamp with Fun Challenge

Hi everyone.
I have had a good day today at the Craft show at Harrogate. Bought quite a few goodies - mainly paper, stamps and punches. I will just have to find time to try them out now.

Here is my card for the Stamp with Fun Challenge which has a bridal theme.
I just saw the heading "Bridal/Wedding" and thought that would give me the opportunity to try out my Magnolia Wedding stamps. I wish I had looked at the DT cards first because the last one there is quite similar to mine - in some ways. Have you ever noticed that? I once did a card and about a month later I opened a magazine and found one almost identical to mine.
I asked my husband if he liked my card, and after looking at it for about 5 minutes he said "not really - her dress is a bit plain isn't it?" Men!! I didn't actually design the stamp!!!
Anyway here is my card.
I hope you like it and I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
I am going to chill out now after my very busy day.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Just another very quick post today. I am feeling a bit better than yesterday but I am very, very tired.
We are going to my ex-father-in-law's funeral in about an hours time so I have just enough time to show you this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge.

Hope you like it.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Just a very quick post as I have had a bit of a health problem today so I do not want to be on the computer for very long.

A few weeks ago I saved a couple of tutorials but now I cannot find the website they were on.
One was for an easel card on the top of a drawer and the other was for this gift bag.
I made them for my daughters birthday - and here they are.
I am entering the card in the Lili of the Valley Challenge.
This is the front of the bag.
This is the back of the bag
and here is the side view of the bag.
thank you for looking.
luv eileen
