Just a very quick blog to let you all know that I will eventually get round to doing some cards!!

Last Wednesday the health problem I had was a fit (or seizure) - it is 4 years since I last had one so I am so disappointed that it has happened again. However, I was very foolish and ignored the warning signs and so I have only myself to blame.

I was just starting to feel a bit better on Monday when we got a phone call to go over to the hospital - my husband's brother had been admitted and they did not expect him to live very long. That was such a shock even though he has been have treatment for cancer for 3 years. Nobody realized that he was so ill. We stayed there till 1.30am and got to bed about 2am because the nurse said she did not know how long he would go on and we could still be sat there the next night. We got a call from my husband's other brother about 3.30am to say that John had died. I still can't believe it. It has been quite a bad month so far. Yesterday and most of today has been sent sorting things out etc and so I have been very tired and quite headachey.

I have some order of services to do for my husband's niece and then hopefully I will get back to card making.
Please keep stopping by

Just Magnolia Challenge

Just another very quick post today. I am feeling a bit better than yesterday but I am very, very tired.
We are going to my ex-father-in-law's funeral in about an hours time so I have just enough time to show you this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge.

Hope you like it.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Just a very quick post as I have had a bit of a health problem today so I do not want to be on the computer for very long.

A few weeks ago I saved a couple of tutorials but now I cannot find the website they were on.
One was for an easel card on the top of a drawer and the other was for this gift bag.
I made them for my daughters birthday - and here they are.
I am entering the card in the Lili of the Valley Challenge.
This is the front of the bag.
This is the back of the bag
and here is the side view of the bag.
thank you for looking.
luv eileen

Hidden Treasures Final Fling and Just Cute Bears

Good evening to anyone who happens to hop over to my blog - thank you for stopping by.

I am very sorry that the Hidden Treasures Challenge has decided to close and I understand only too well when Kelli says that it has become too stressful. I find the same myself. I have not had much time lately plus there are other things I am wanting to do - like patchwork quilting - but all the time I feel I must try and make time to make a card and enter a challenge. I don't know why because it is very rare that I ever win one!!
Anyway, do keep in touch Kelli and good luck in whatever you are doing.

Here is my card for the final Hidden Treasures Challenge - the theme of which was Turquoise and Orange. I thought I would also tie it in with the Just Cute Bear sketch.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
We are going to an Evening Wedding do on Saturday and on Sunday we are having a get together at my nieces house because my other niece is back from Australia for 3 weeks. Hi Jude, if you get to look at this - see you Sunday. It will be nice to see my grandchildren and my sisters grandchildren all together - I am sure it will be fun.

What a miserable day it is at the moment - it is really dark and pouring down - anyone would think it was September or something.
As I am always saying, I just don't know where time goes. I have only made 1 card in the last 10 days - and I am not going to show you it today, you will have to wait until tomorrow.

Today I am going to show you the card that I made for the birth of my Granddaughter, Meriel. It is similar to a wedding one I did recently.
Here is the front

and here it is opened out as an easel card.

I really love these papers.
It was a sad day yesterday, especially for my children, because my ex-Father-in-Law passed away. He had been in hospital for some weeks but it is still sad. He was 87.
God Bless Roy.
back tomorrow.

Baby "Cousin"

Just a quick post tonight to show you a couple of photos of my gorgeous grand-daughter which were taken on Saturday when she was just 2 days old.

The first one is me and "Cousin" and the second one is "Cousin" looking at her Grandad.

They have still not decided on a name for her so I will just have to keep calling her "Cousin" until they do.
She is so tiny and gorgeous, I can't wait to see her again.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

The briefest of blogs today just to show you my card.
The theme for the Secret Crafter is Strawberries & Cream.
I was positive I had a magnolia stamp with a strawberry but could not find it anywhere - until I had finished the card. However the ice cream does have a strawberry on it.
have to dash - going to see my Grandaughter tomorrow.

It's a GIRL

"Cousin" has arrived!
Well I can't believe that, we all thought she was going to have a little boy.
Whenever we talked to my grandaughter, Florence, about the baby and asked her what she thought it should be called she always said "Cousin", as though that was the obvious name for the baby.
I have just received a photo of my new grandaughter and she looks to have dark hair whereas poor Florence never had any till she was about 2.

New Addition

Just a very quick post, before I disappear into the garden, to let you know that my daughter-in-law has started in labour this morning so hopefully by the end of the day I will have a new grandchild.
