Cupcake Challenge

First of all I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all you lovely ladies who have left comments for me recently. I am very sorry that I have been soooo busy that I just haven't had time to blog hop - but I promise I will get round to it soon.

I'm afraid it is another quick post today

Here is the card I have made to the Cupcake Challenge Sketch which is below.

I think on the photo the colouring of Tilda doesn't just look to match the card but it does actually match the Dark Green Bazzil that I have used.

The DP Papers are from the First Edition Spring Feast Paper Pad which I got from the Range.

Had a lovely meal last night but now I feel like 3 courses was far too much!!

Enjoy the weekend - hope the weather improves.

Challenging!!!

Hi

It is not such a nice day today here in Yorkshire, it keeps raining and is really quite cold - I have just turned the heating up a bit!

I have a card for you today that is a little bit different.
I saw the idea over on Monica's blog and thought I would have to have a go at it.
It is a twisted easel card.

Being a bit senile as I am, I ended up sticking it on the wrong way round and had to prize it off again as I had already made the maid part of the card ready to stick on to the easel bit - if you follow me!

Unfortunately I then ran out of ink on my printer and haven't been able to get to the shop for another so, being in a rush to enter my card in the Just Magnolia Challenge, I have photographed it as it is without sticking the sentiment part onto the bottom half of the card - this is getting quite hard to explain but I am sure you will understand.

Here is the Just Magnolia Sketch

and here is the main bit of my card

and this is the rest of it...

I know it does not look anything special just left like that but at least you get the gist of what it is supposed to look like.
I think I need a cuppa now!!!
Thank you for looking.

Colour Create Challenge

Well I watched the weather last night and they said it was going to be an beautiful day today - and they were right!! But what they didn't say that it was going to be freezing and I would have to scrape the ice off my car this morning.
Still I will be sat in the dining room this afternoon doing my husband's books and it will be really warm because the sun will be shining in there.
Now the more I look at Tilda the more I wonder if I have got it wrong. I have coloured it like she has a wing (the glittery bit) but nowadays they don't usually have wings - which I am glad about because I did not like that bit. But that is what it looked like on the stamp and I am wondering if it was all part of her hair - if you follow me!!
I know that I am last minute again but the card is for The Colour Create Challenge which will end tomorrow and the Challenge is PINK, GREEN AND CREAM - which I have used on this card.

I can't say that I am over keen on the card really, I don't know why.
Have to dash now - I am going to have my lunch and I am starving.

Tilda meets Ribbon Girl

Santa's little helper! That is the stamp that I have used for today's card and I have coloured her with Copics.
Here is the full card.

I have used the sketch by Dawny P for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge

and combined it with the theme from The Ribbon Girl Challenge, which was to use Red and Green.
The papers are my new Christmas ones from Stampin Up which I got from Julie last week and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, as usual.

thank you for looking

Create4Fun Challenge

What a horrid day today.
I didn't get much sleep last night because my husband snores so loud that I am sure you can all hear him!!

I went for a walk this morning and it started raining. I was going to go out but then I couldn't be bothered.
Anyway I have been creative and made a card for the Create4Fun Challenge, which was a sketch.

I was rather pleased with the card till I realized that I had ommited to put a strip at the bottom, so I had to stick some ribbon on - but then I wasn't sure just where to put the bow. Anyway it doesn't look too bad does it?

Me and our Kath are off over to Julies Stampin Up open day tomorrow, so I am really looking forward to that. See you soon, Julie.
that's all for today,
back soon.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Hi Everyone - I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day yesterday and that your hubbies treated you well.
My husband did manage to buy me a card and a bunch of flowers but he usually writes me a little verse in the card and he "hasn't had time" to write one. Don't quite know what to make of that excuse.
Anyway I did take time out of my "busy doing nothing" schedule to make him a card which I was quite pleased with and I also made him a verse to go inside it.

I decided that the card would fit into the Just Magnolia Challenge which has the theme "LOVE"
so here is the card.

The flowers actually look a bit darker than they are but I didn't want to do them the same colour as the dress.
The papers are downloads and I have used the Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch and coloured the Magnolia Images with Copic Markers.
Thank you for looking - check back tomorrow because I will have something else to show you that I did for Valentine's Day as well.

Create4Fun Challenge

Hi Everyone,
I am not having much luck with the weather so far this year.
Once a month I go for a pedicure and that is where I have been today. Of course it had to start snowing didn't it and how daft did I look coming out of the beauty salon and walking to the car in my sandals!!!! It always seems to be the same when I go - it is either snowing or raining.

Anyway I have actually managed to make 2 cards so far this week and it is only Wednesday.
Here is my first card which is for the Create4Fun Challenge

I love the stamp, which I have had for a while now but have never gone off it. It is from Funky Kits.
I was really pleased with the card and when I showed it my husband he just looked at it and said "Oh you've done one like that before haven't you?" I said I hadn't but I had used the stamp before. Nothing like making you feel deflated is there?
You will have to wait till tomorrow for my 2nd card.

Friday Sketches meets Magnolia

Just a quick post.
Today has been a lovely but very tiring day - my daughter, Claire, has been up from Retford with my grandaughter, Florence who is so gorgeous I could eat her!!

By the time they left I was very tired and had headache, so I don't know how Claire went on because she had drove up here and had to drive back again.

Anyway here is a card that I have made.

I have used the Friday Sketchers sketch and the theme from the Magnolia Challenge, which is hearts and flowers.
I hope you like the card - if so please leave me a comment or perhaps you might like to become a follower! I am always delighted to receive your comments. Thank you.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

I bet "Our Kath" is really disappointed with me.
It was her birthday on Saturday and I haven't even wished her a Happy Birthday on my Blog.
Of course I went down to see her on her birthday but I have just not mentioned it on here - I don't know where the time goes.

I will just tell you though that Kath retires today so she will have plenty of time for crafting now! Happy Retirement Kath, you deserve it.
I did make a joke on Saturday that she will be retiring Wednesday and getting divorced the Wednesday after! (her husband is still at home after his stroke so by the time they have had a full week together, who knows?) Only kidding really.

Back to this weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge and it is my final week as Guest Designer. Thank you for the opportunity to take part in your design team, I have really enjoyed it. Here is my card

The papers I have used are from The Hobby House and are by Black Market Paper Society. I have coloured the image with Copics.

Thank you for looking.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good morning everyone.
I am up nice and early today so hopefully I might get a few cards made.
Are you all ready for Christmas?
I have bought most of my pressies now and just need to wrap them, which I love doing.

I still have quite a few cards to make. I wonder if you all make all the cards you send or do you just make special ones? I would love to know how other people find the time if they make them all, so please leave me a comment.

Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge - which was to do something sparkly.

I have used Magnolia papers and of course the stamp is Skiing Henry from Whiff of Joy.
thank you for stopping by.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Well I just cannot believe it!!
I have actually won this weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge which is absolutely brilliant. The only thing is that I am a nervous wreck now because I will be Guest Designer for 3 weeks - I am sure my mind will just go blank and I won't be able to think of anything.
Thank you to Whiff of Joy for chosing my card using the Random Generator.

On to this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge which is to do masking.

I am sorry that the lighting on this card is not so good but I had to take the photo tonight because I hadn't finished it during the day.
I have used two stamps on this card - Tilda and the bench with the Holly.
I just love this colour scheme.
The papers are Magnolia and the flowers are from Tabbycraft.
I have used some Copics and some Promarkers.
I hope you like it.
I am in a bit of a panic now because I have about 100 of my own Christmas Cards to make and it has taken me 2 days to make 10!!!
Back soon, thank you for looking

Create 4 fun Challenge

Back again.
I have just been to see a podiatrist about all the problems I have with my feet - I hate the thought of winter coming and having to wear shoes instead of sandals. She says I have osteo-arthritis in my big toe which is causing the trouble. There is always something isn't there, especially when you are getting older like me.
Anyway here is the card that I have made for the Create 4 Fun Challenge.

I have used Basic Grey papers from the Eskimo Kisses range and the stamp is from Whiff of Joy.
I will be back tomorrow with another card for you so don't forget to pop across for a look!!

Just Christmas & Birthday Challenge

Just a quick blog to show you the card I have made for the Just Christmas and Birthday
Challenge - don't know if I am that keen on it or not.

The papers are, once again, from My Mind's Eye and the stamp Sarah Kay.

I have had a lovely but tiring weekend and I am just going to have a snack tea before going to my Mother-in-laws.

Today I have been on a class at a local craft shop making a chipboard book using sprays. I thoroughly enjoyed it although it was very tiring.
bye for now.

Simon Says Challenge and Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

Hi everyone - I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

We had a very much "rugby" weekend. We had our amateur game on the Saturday - my husband did not play but my son did.

On Sunday we travelled to Warrington to watch the Grand Final. We watched two games. The first one was Keighley Cougars against Oldham. I used to be a very staunch supporter of Keighley but have fallen by the wayside although my son, Richard, still goes. They were playing in a final for promotion and won by 2 points. At the end some of the fans ran on the pitch and Richard ran on but fell over the barrier (how embarassing!!!) and then it showed him on the tele congratulating some of the players.
The second match was our local team, Halifax, playing for the Championship against Barrow, and they lost. We had actually gone on one of the Halifax coaches so there was a lot of disappointed people. Years and years ago when my husband was in his twenties he had trials with Halifax but his eyesight let him down on the 3rd game and they did not sign him. Barrow offered him a game and he played one game for them but it was too far to travel so stuck to amateur rugby after that.

Back to card making. I made this card for the Whiff of Joy challenge and then realised that I had used a Magnolia Stamp - it must be my age!! I have decided now that I can enter it in the
Simon Says Challenge, which is to use Red and Green, and also in the Spoonful of Sugar
Challenge for which the theme is Christmas.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

Today is my husband's birthday - I won't tell you how old he is!!
I have made him one or two little things for his birthday but I won't show you them till later in the week.
Yesterday my niece called round with her two boys - Ethan & Austin - and Austin walked a step from the coffee table to the settee - he isn't 10 months old yet!! I think he is going to be a right little monkey.

I have made a card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge - I started it last week and thought I would get in early with it (for a change) but then I never got round to doing the image until yesterday.
Anyway here it is

The paper is from the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection and the stamp is from Funky Kits.
Please feel free to leave a comment - I love to hear from anyone who stops by to look at my blog
thank you

Sketch and Stash Challenge.

Well I am back from this morning's photography class. Another waste of time. Why is it that I book these classes only to be disappointed? It was supposed to be about getting more out of your camera but all we did was mess about on the computer.
I walked down there and then went to Tesco and walked back - the journey back took me nearly an hour and a half. My feet hurt that much I could have cried. I was so relieved to get home. I didn't get any sympathy from my husband he just said that I was soft and it served me right for walking back. I don't know what is the matter with my feet but sometimes they are very painful. I suppose it is old age!!!

Never mind. On to my card which is for the Sketch and Stash Challenge

I have used my new stamp from Funky Kits and the paper is by Basic Grey.
I am going to give the card to my husband's niece - it is her birthday on the 19th, the day after Andrew's birthday (Andrew is her dad).
Next week is my husbands birthday so I will have to get cracking with that.
must dash, lots to do.

Andrew's Birthday

Another quick post today, just to show you the card that I have done for my brother-in-law, Andrew, whose birthday is on Friday.

I have used Wild Asparagus paper from My Mind's Eye and I have decorated the inside (but I forgot to take a photo of that)
back later in the week with some challenge cards ( I hope). Tomorrow morning I am off on a short course to try to improve my camera skills!!!!

Just Magnolia Challenge

Hi there, what a beautiful day it has been today, I can't believe that it has been so hot.

I had a lovely day on Tuesday - my daughter Claire came up with Florence - she is so gorgeous and cute. My niece's little boy, Ethan, has just started school and he came round that day after school. Florence was in the car ready for going home and Ethan got in to have a look at her. She dropped her book and he picked it up for her and gave it to her. I asked her to say thank you to him, which she did, and he said very quietly to her "You're welcome". It was so sweet.

Anyway another last minute card here - this time for the Just Magnolia Challenge tomorrow.

hope you like it.

Sugar Bowl Challenge

I wish I could be much more organised like everyone else seems to be and get my entries done well in advance. The trouble is I have so many other things that I want to do as well.
Once again I am just entering this challenge at the last minute, so I will make it brief.

Here is my card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge - I have not entered this one before.

I know it is very much like my last one but the sketch is different.
Hope you like it. Sorry the photo is not so good but couldn't get the lighting right. I am hopeless!!

Buy one get one free

Well that isn't strictly true but once again I have done one card which ties in with two challenges. The first challenge is the Creative Card Crew and for that you had to use Pink, Black and White, and the second was a sketch for Sketch and Stash.
I have used a fairly new Magnolia stamp - I have only used it once before.

The sentiment is computer generated.

I am feeling quite pleased with myself today because I have made some tomato soup from what I had left of my home grown tomatoes - and I have to say that it actually tastes really nice. Quite suprising!!!
thank you for looking and for all the lovely comments that have been left - they are very much appreciated.
