Austin's Birthday

Hi everyone I hope you are all enjoying the snow!!
I don't mind the snow it is the cold that I am not so keen on but I am not complaining - what do you mean, for a change!!

On Sunday it will be my great nephew's birthday - he will be 2. He is so absolutely gorgeous - a mixture of angel and devil. He seems to get into all sorts of mischief but he has such a sweet and cheeky smile that I am sure his mum will find it hard to be cross with him.

I have used the Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch for Austin's card

but I have used a Lili of the Valley stamp so I thought I would enter it in both challenges.

The Challenge on LOTV is "A few of my favourite things" so for this card my list of fave things would be

1. The Stampin Up paper that I have used - I absolutely love this pack of blues
2. I love presents - not that I get many
3. Lili of the Valley Stamps - they are so cute
4. Last but not least - one of my favourite things (or people) is Austin.

So there you go - just a very few of my favourite things.
A big thank you to my two new followers for joining me and of course thank you to everyone who follows me and leaves comments.

thank you and have a good weekend.

PS - What a drip I am!! I forgot to put the card on this post so have had to edit it!!

By one - get one free

Hi
Today I have one card and two challenges - hence the title.
The first challenge is the Secret Crafter and it has a theme as the challenge - and that is ORENTAL - so I have used the Chinese Tilda.
The other challenge is the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is a sketch.

I have used so papers from Stampin Up that I have had for a while so I don't know if they are still available or not - but I thought they were quite oriental as well.

I have coloured the image with my Copics and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment is computer generated.

thank you for taking time to look and thank you to my new followers for deciding to follow my blog.

Thank you
luv

Papertake Weekly Challenge and ABC Challenge

Tilda with Christmas Tree...

This weeks Papertake Challenge is "3 of something".
Fortunately I had "one I made earlier" that I could use for this challenge. It has 3 different Magnolia papers on it - I bought them last year and really like them but don't seem to be able to get hold of them this year.
The Challenge at ABC Challenge is to use lots of flowers - so here they are....

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I usually glitter them but didn't bother this time.
And here is the full card......
The lace is some that I got from our local branch of Boyes and I have coloured the image with Copic Markers.

I have just been to visit my mother's cousin this morning - she is 78 today and I just can't believe her.

For one thing she has been in the Red Cross for 50 years and still goes on duty for them sometimes at special events where she has to be up really early in the morning.
She has recently lost two stones in weight not only by dieting but by going to the gym!!
She also wanted me to have a look at her laptop (yes she can work the computer as well) and she has just bought a digital camera that does movies - ready for when she goes to Prague next March. She is going there with her nephew to show him where her brother got killed during the war.

One of her favourite things is playing on her Nintendo DS, and she has a mobile phone - all this at 78 years old, isn't that brilliant??
That's all for today, thank you for looking.

Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Hi everyone,

just a very quick post as my hubby is on his way home with a Chinese (takeaway!!)
First of all I have had to nip to Casualty with my son who came off injured at rugby - he has sprained a ligament or something - anyway he is well enough to be at the pub.

I made this card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge but I am not really keen on it - I don't know why. Also I am not sure which week the sketch was.
I thought I would still enter it though and see what you think?
My husband seems to have become quite an expert on cardmaking lately (not!!) and his opinion (for what it is worth) is that it doesn't look right because the polar bear doesn't look like a proper polar bear. It's head is the wrong shape.
Perhaps I should contact Lili of the Valley and ask them if they can change the shape of the bear's head!!!
Why do I bother asking him his opinion?

Anyway I will have to dash now. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

David's Birthday Card

Just a quick post this morning to show you the card that I have, at last, finished for my husband's birthday tomorrow.
Here it is.

I thought I would enter it in the Penny Black Challenge even though I haven't fulfilled the full sketch, and also the Papertake Challenge - which is to include an animal of any kind.
Thank you for looking - hope you have a nice day.
