Just Magnolia Challenge

I know there probably won't be as many sad people as me about - blogging on a Saturday evening - but I have just been uploading the photos from our rugby game this afternoon so I thought I might as well show you the card I have made for the Just Magnolia Challenge.

I made this for a Challenge which was Unconventional Christmas and thought I would combine it with Dawny's sketch but when I checked which Challenge the Unconventional Christmas was I found it was Lili of the Valley so I could not use this card with Tilda on. That is so typical of me - totally unorganised.
Hope you are all having a good weekend - I will get back to washing the rugby kit now!!!!

Papertake Challenge

I hope you have all had a great weekend and enjoyed the lovely weather that we have been having.
I have had a nice walk this morning and then I have been finished the book that I started at the class yesterday.

I thought I had better get this post done before I am too late - again!! The card is for the Papertake Challenge and I have used Basic Grey papers and Prima Poinsettias.

Thank you for looking

Whiff of Joy Challenge

I am just enjoying Peace & Quiet!!
My husband and son have gone to Lincoln overnight - perhaps I should apologize in advance to anyone who lives there, having to put up with our rugby team invading their city. Hope they don't cause too much chaos!!!

I am really enjoying just being able to do what I want, when I want, and tonight I will watch what I want on the tele. I will have my tea when I want - and I have treated myself to some fillet steak, so I am looking forward to that.

"Our Kath" and my brother-in-law, Chris, flew to Australia on Thursday to visit their daughter Jude - Hi to you all if you get chance to read this. I have seen the itinery (don't know if that is spelt right) and I think they will need a long rest when they get back, they are going to be so busy.
It seems so strange really Kath being at the other side of the world for 3 weeks, I will want to keep ringing her to tell her little bits of silly things. Anyway I am sure they will have a fantastic time.

I think I must be going a bit senile or something because I thought the Whiff of Joy Challenge had finished, but it doesn't end until 11th October so here is another attempt at a card - this time using the correct stamp.

The papers are by My Mind's Eye.
Thank you for looking and for all the comments.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sketch and Stash Challenge

Good Evening,
Just time for this post before I watch Coronation Street. I don't know what has happened to this card but I had a go at brushing some distress ink onto the white background. I tried it first on two scrap images using "Worn Lipstick" (that is the name of the ink I used, not some old lipstick!!). I did it last night and today when I came to put the card together the ink has gone a strange colour whilst the ink on the scrap pieces has remained pink!! Isn't that rather strange?
So here is the card anyway. I have used an old House Mouse stamp that I have had for some time but could never colour it properly until I got my Copic Markers.
The paper is by Basic Grey and the card is for the Sketch and Stash Challenge.

Thank you for looking, must dash.

Buy one get one free

Well that isn't strictly true but once again I have done one card which ties in with two challenges. The first challenge is the Creative Card Crew and for that you had to use Pink, Black and White, and the second was a sketch for Sketch and Stash.
I have used a fairly new Magnolia stamp - I have only used it once before.

The sentiment is computer generated.

I am feeling quite pleased with myself today because I have made some tomato soup from what I had left of my home grown tomatoes - and I have to say that it actually tastes really nice. Quite suprising!!!
thank you for looking and for all the lovely comments that have been left - they are very much appreciated.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Hello everyone - I am just back from my walk and enjoying a cuppa whilst I do my blogging.

I went down to see Florence yesterday for her Birthday but I cannot show you the card I made her, because guess what - I forgot to take a photo of it!!
I had a brilliant day with Florence yesterday, she is so cute and comical. Here is a photo of her opening her present - a blackboard from Uncle Richard - she loved it.
We went out for lunch and here is a photo of her enjoying an ice cream.

Down to business and here is my card for the Just Magnolia challenge

I thought I would also just show you two photos of my grand-nephews.
The first one is Austin who has fallen asleep in his baby bouncer
and the second one is Austin with his older brother Ethan. Ethan is 4 and starts school next week but I don't think he is looking forward to it.
Thank you for looking and I hope you like the photos.

Sketch and Stash Challenge

Oooh! Back again already - I am doing well aren't I? Especially as I have been in the garden most of the day.
I have made this card for the Sketch and Stash Challenge and I cannot honestly say that the stamp I have used is totally brand new but I have only used it once before (I think).
The paper is from Stampin Up and I used Copics for the colouring.

Hope you like it and thank you for looking.
I will crack on now and do some more.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Oh no! Have I got Swine Flu?
I don't think so really. When I saw Florence on Tuesday morning she had a cough and now I have started with one as well.

Only 3 full days left now before we go to Cape Verde on Thursday morning. I am frantically trying to get everything done and still find time to do my cards.

I also have to make a card for my son & daughter-in-law's wedding anniversary on the 3rd of August and it will be my birthday whilst we are away.

The Papertake challenge laid down certain colours to use for this weeks card and I have chosen Pink & Green (one of my favourite colour combos)
Here is my card

hope you like it - thank you for stopping by.

Friday Sketchers

What a hectic, but enjoyable weekend it has been.
First of all on Saturday I dashed up to watch my husband play rugby believing the kick off time to be 2.30pm as usual. Arrived bang on 2.30pm only to find that they had kicked off at 2pm but noboday had bothered to let me know. I had just got arrived and noticed David looking at his leg and then he came limping off. Someone had kicked him on the shin with their stud and blood was literally pumping out of his leg - his sock was just full of blood. That was it, the physio didn't want him to go back on. So that was a waste of time going up there. He didn't want to come home with me and he didn't want to go to the hospital so I came home once it had stopped bleeding.
My gorgeous grand-daughter arrived and was wanting me to go everywhere with her - which was fantastic because at one time she always used to cry at me. Here is a photo of us both although it is not a very good one.
The rest of the weekend was as I had said in my post on Saturday.

Today I have been for a nice long walk and then done a bit of gardening.
I have also made a card for the Friday Sketchers challenge and here it is.
You might have noticed that I really like this stamp and also the paper I have used which is from Stampin Up.

Cupcake Craft Challenges

What a lovely day it is today - a beautiful sunny day, but actually quite cold out.
Just time to post this card before I get off to the rugby - David is playing today so I will go and cheer him on.

We have quite a busy weekend coming up. My daughter and her husband and my grand-daughter, Florence, are coming up and staying overnight!!! It will be the first time Florence has stayed so I think I will be quite tired by tomorrow.

Then tomorrow my son and daughter-in-law are coming up. We will be picking my step daughter up and taking her shopping to get something for her birthday - which is tomorrow - and then we are all going out for Sunday lunch (but it will be about 2pm). Will need to have a good rest on Monday to get over the weekend.

Also tomorrow it will be 2 years since we had to have our Bess put to sleep - I still miss her!
Anyway here is the card for the Cupcake Challenge.

And here is Lauren's Birthday card - it is more or less the same as the Mojo Monday one.

I will have to dash now or I will be late for rugby.

Yippee - I have got another follower - that makes a grand total of 3. My new follower is Deb from Bonnie Scotland. Thank you Deb.

I am doing really well today - 2 posts in one day.

I have been to the dentist this afternoon for a filling. I don't know why, but the anaesthetic seems to have knocked me out and given me a headache.

It has been a really nice day here today and the Cupcake Craft Challenge is to make a card that has something to do with Spring, so here is mine.

I thought the green colour reminded me of the greenery that starts to come out in Spring and the Lamb of course reminds me of Spring.
I thought this card would be good for my mother in law for Mother's Day and of course Mother's Day is in Spring.
Please let me know what you think and thank you to everyone who has left comments for me.

Friday Sketchers Blog

I thought I would have a go at doing the Friday Sketchers Challenge this week and below is the sketch.

and here is my card

the picture is not very good because I had to take the photo tonight whereas I usually take my photos during the daytime when the light is better.
I really quite enjoyed doing this one. I used Pink Petticoat papers, magnolia stamp and prima flowers.
