Lili of the Valley Challenge

Happy Monday Morning everyone - hope you have all had a good weekend.
Our Rugby team actually had a win this week - for a change!!

The Challenge over at Lili of the Valley this week was a lovely sketch from the very talented Bev.
I haven't used a die cut this time I have used the rubber stamp - James with Presents, it is such a good one to colour.
the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
and here is the card
The papers are last years from Stampin Up.
Sorry about all the spacing - I have been messing about with Photoshop but still can't get everything as I want it.

Anyone for Anya Challenge

I have actually got round to making a card - round being quite a good word actually for this card.
The Anyone for Anya Challenge was "Don't be Square" so I thought I would do a round card. Then I thought I would have a go at making it an easel card - so here is the finished card

The papers, and the ribbon, are from Stampin Up and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The image is coloured with Copics.
I have got some new Stampin Up goodies so will try and do a card using those.
thank you for looking

Just Magnolia Challenge

Oooh it can't be bad - two posts in one day. I thought I had missed the deadline for this card but it is 10pm tonight so I am alright.
Here is my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge.

I can't remember where I have got the papers from - it must be old age because I have only just bought them.
The sentiment is a stamp from Julie at Stampin Up and I have used Copics.
Hope you like the card - I am going to use it for a certain someone who has a birthday soon!!

Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge

Ooh! I am dashing about today.
Started this card yesterday but then ran out of the deep red card and had to wait until I got some more today - luckily they had some in stock.
I am just rushing to put this on - I thought it had to be in by tomorrow but it is actually Sunday, I think - and then I have to do a bit of my big pile of ironing before making the tea.
Here is my card then for the Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge.

On the challenge it did say to use "buttons" but I have actually only used one.
The papers are digital ones, the stamp is a Gorjuss Girl one from Funky Kits, the ribbon is from Stampin Up and of course Prima flowers.
Hope you like the card and that you all have a lovely weekend.
We have got our first rugby match on Saturday so I will be doing the photos for that. I hope my camera works this time because when we had a friendly the other week my camera only lasted 20 minutes then went off. I think it was the batteries so I have bought some new rechargeable ones for it.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

Hello again to anyone passing through, I hope you have had a good weekend.

I walked down to the rugby sevens on Saturday and was glad that I did because our team got through to the final, which was brilliant. Unfortunately we lost the final but at least we reached it, so that was really good.
I started this card last Wednesday but with not being so well I didn't finish it until about 10 minutes ago so I hope I am in time for the challenge. I haven't actually put as many embellishments on as it shows on the sketch but sometimes I think you can have too many.
Anyway here is my card below.

When I was at the craft class on Thursday, Maddy showed me how to colour an image like this, so thanks Maddy. This is not the one that she coloured ( I hasten to add!!)
Hope you like it and I hope to get back to making more cards this week - especially as it will be my son's birthday next Monday and my nephew's birthday on the Wednesday.

A bit late with this card but I have been busy in the garden this morning and catching up with jobs this afternoon and then this evening my sister-in-law called round.
So here is my entry for the Whiff of Joy Challenge - hope you like it.

Challenges

What an absolutely gorgeous day it is today - the sun is shining and it is so hot.
I went for a walk early this morning and then spent the rest of the morning in the garden.
Last week I planted 6 lettuce in a grow bag in the greenhouse and 3 of them have been eaten by snails!! Horrible things.

I thought that this card would do for 2 challenges - the Friday Sketchers and Stamp Something.
Actually Friday 17th April would have been my Aunty Lily's birthday (bet you didn't remember that Kath!) and the 19th of April was my sister-in-law's 50th Birthday (but I know she won't be looking at my blog so there was no point in wishing her Happy 50th)

I rather like the blue, yellow & green - what do you think?
On Saturday my sister and I are going for a card class with Julie so we are both looking forward to that - see what we can learn.

Friday Sketchers

What a hectic, but enjoyable weekend it has been.
First of all on Saturday I dashed up to watch my husband play rugby believing the kick off time to be 2.30pm as usual. Arrived bang on 2.30pm only to find that they had kicked off at 2pm but noboday had bothered to let me know. I had just got arrived and noticed David looking at his leg and then he came limping off. Someone had kicked him on the shin with their stud and blood was literally pumping out of his leg - his sock was just full of blood. That was it, the physio didn't want him to go back on. So that was a waste of time going up there. He didn't want to come home with me and he didn't want to go to the hospital so I came home once it had stopped bleeding.
My gorgeous grand-daughter arrived and was wanting me to go everywhere with her - which was fantastic because at one time she always used to cry at me. Here is a photo of us both although it is not a very good one.
The rest of the weekend was as I had said in my post on Saturday.

Today I have been for a nice long walk and then done a bit of gardening.
I have also made a card for the Friday Sketchers challenge and here it is.
You might have noticed that I really like this stamp and also the paper I have used which is from Stampin Up.

I am just about in time with the next to Challenge cards.

The first one is for Mojo Monday 69 Challenge
Below is the sketch

and here is my card

The other one is the Papertake Challenge and here is Dawny's sketch
and this is my card
Will have to dash now and see to the tea. This week I went to M & S and did the Dine in for £10 thingy and I got a full chicken, some diced potatoes, a lovely apple pie and a bottle of wine all for £10 - I saved £7 something so I was pretty pleased with myself - gives me more money to spend on crafting!!

I would like to show you some cards that I have made this year for family and friends - I have made over 100 cards and I am going to donate 20p a card to Ovarian Cancer seeing as how that is what I had. We seem to hear an awful lot about breast cancer and a lot of people support it (and quite rightly so) but we don't seem to hear anything much about Ovarian Cancer.

The first card is using one of my favourite Whipper Snapper stamps. The dark coloured card is Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

The second one is another Whipper Snapper Stamp which I really like

and this is the inside of it - using Pink Petticoat paper.

The third one is using one of my favourite Stampin Up stamps which I have used for both Christmas Cards and Birthday Cards.

Thank you for looking

Wednesday, 26 November 2008

Hello everyone!

I had a lovely day out yesterday doing a bit of Christmas shopping with my daughter Claire and grandaughter Florence. I don't get to see much of Florence with her living in Retford and she always used to cry when she saw me. Yesterday she was absolutely brilliant - she was very well behaved and gave me lots of kisses especially when it was time for her to go in her car seat. She is a right cheeky little monkey!! We were there from about 10.30am till about 4.00pm and when I left Claire at her car my legs hurt so much I could hardly walk back to my car. Anyway I made it and got stuck in a bit of traffic coming home but it wasn't too bad really.

Below is this week's Papertake Challenge sketch
and here is my card
hope you like it

Thursday, 20 November 2008

Hi everyone, what a week this has been!!

On Monday my sister was taken to the A & E with a suspected heart attack but luckily it wasn't, and she came back home in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday we visited my mother in law who is hospital but is due to come home tomorrow.
Today my husband rang to say that his brother's wife had died - she was 61. Although she had suffered with asthma and bronchitis for a lot of years, she had been fine in the morning and was having a conversation with her husband and not long after that she could not breathe and died within 10 minutes of being admitted to hospital. I still can't believe it.
Let's hope there is nothing else bad to come.

Back to cards and below is the Mojo Monday sketch No. 61 which is quite a nice one I think.

I did two cards. The first one just using a snowman stamp that I had and Pink Petticoats paper. The darker card is Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant and so is the ribbon.

The second one is more or less the same except that I put the ribbon in a different place and forgot to put the 3 brads on the top of the picture. I was inspired by Dawny P. to use my Sugar Nellies snowman stamp and used my new Pro Markers to colour it. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Thank you for looking.

Here is This week's Papertake Challenge

and here is the card I have made. The only thing is I missed off the two embellishments at either side. I forgot about them until I had put the card together and didn't want to add them afterwards.

I asked my husband if he liked it because I wasn't too sure about it, and he said it was good but not the sort that he would buy. What do you think?
I would appreciate your comments if only to let me know that someone is actually looking at my blog!

Sunday, 7 September 2008

Well it is Sunday evening and I am shattered after quite a busy weekend doing nothing much.

On Saturday we had a run down to The Craft Box at Elsecar Heritage Centre, Hoyland - they have some lovely goodies there - and on Sunday afternoon we went to Oswaldtwistle Mills.

About 18 months or more ago I bought an embroidery machine and had just about got used to using it when I was taken ill and I have never got round to using it since. My husband runs a local amateur rugby team, Hipperholme Warriors, and he had some polo neck t.shirts donated. He decided that I could embroider the team badge on it. He thinks it just takes a few seconds to do it but I have to get the design digitised and figure out the machine again. That is why we went to Oswaltwistle to Lords Sewing to get some thread etc for these badges. Whilst we were there we also went to Dawn Bibby's new shop - which is really nice. Well I say new, it is the first time I have been there, I dont know how long it has been open.

Anyway below is Mojo Monday sketch for week 50 (I always seem to be a week behind)

and this is my card. I am not entirely satisfied with it, what do you think?

I have used papers from Pink Petticoat, the stamp is by Penny Black (one of my favourite companies because they do such cute ones), and the ribbon is from Stampin Up.
