Totally Gorjuss

Happy Tuesday everyone...I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

On Saturday my husband got a game of rugby (we were short) and he actually managed to score a try - brilliant - the first time in a couple of seasons.
At the end of last season he broke a couple of ribs.
I got a load of abuse from the other team's players because I told them, very nicely, that they had just been beaten by a 55 year old. They told me to shut up and stop mouthing off - which I wasn't doing, just stating a fact.

Back to the subject in hand -I have done a card for the Totally Gorjuss Challenge which is this sketch.

and here is my card - again using James the Bear.

I am sorry, I hope you are not getting too bored with James but he is so useful. I wonder what is in his cracker??

The papers are digital downloads and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking - I must really try and get some cards done now.
I have had too many distractions the last few days so now I must catch up.

Truly Scrumptious...

......that is what I think of James the Bear

Here is the sketch for this week's Truly Scrumptious Challenge

which I have followed but forgot to put any petals, pearls or pins on the card - mind you the little white blobs look a bit like pearls don't they??
Here is my card, which I have to say I was quite pleased with.
I seem to be quite drawn to the colour and I have already set about making some more of these to send out.

As you all know by now the stamp is from Lili of the Valley and I have coloured James with Copics.
The papers are Digital ones.
That is all for now as I have to go and tackle a pile of ironing.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Add a bit of Sparkle

I have just got back from shopping at Boots - taking advantage of the spend £50 and you get £12 of points on your card.
I have bought 2 lovely gifts which were 1/2 price. They are a set of drawers filled with Sanctuary products. I think they are well worth the money, but of course it was the set of drawers for keeping craft products in that took my eye first rather than the bath products inside them!!
I am well pleased with myself - I like a bargain.

Anyway here is my card for today.

Once again I have used a Lili of the Valley Stamp - I just love James the bear - especially with the cracker.
The papers are digital ones and I have coloured the image with Copics.
I have to say that I do like the turquoisey colours although my hubby prefers the traditional red and green.
Here is a close up of the Snowflakes - which are made using a Martha Stewart Punch and glittered with Glamour Dust. Then I have added a spacer and a brad.

I am entering this card in the following challenges
Friday Sketchers Challenge - which is the sketch I have followed.
The Crafty Pad Challenge - the theme of which is Christmas.
The ABC Challenge which is G for Glitter.
The Simon Says Challenge - which is Punches.
A Spoonful of Sugar - which again is Punches.
Thank you for looking - if I'm not back tomorrow, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Late Again!!

Just a quick post - I am last minute again!! I just had to show you this card for the
Creative Inspirations Challenge because I really like it - it isn't often that I do.

The Challenge was the sketch below

and here is my card...

I love the colours but my husband prefers the Red and Green.

Thank you to all the people who have left me comments - it is very much appreciated.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Happy Monday Morning everyone - hope you have all had a good weekend.
Our Rugby team actually had a win this week - for a change!!

The Challenge over at Lili of the Valley this week was a lovely sketch from the very talented Bev.
I haven't used a die cut this time I have used the rubber stamp - James with Presents, it is such a good one to colour.
the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
and here is the card
The papers are last years from Stampin Up.
Sorry about all the spacing - I have been messing about with Photoshop but still can't get everything as I want it.

Two in One

Back again with another quick post.
Here is a card I made which I thought would fit both the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge - which is Sparkle and Shine, and the Cute Card Thursday - which is make your own embelishment. As I have made the poinsettia I thought that would qualify for this challenge.
I really like these James the Bear Stamps from Lili of the Valley - in fact I love all their stamps.
Isn't if funny how our tastes change - last year I used quite a few Whiff of Joy stamps as well as Magnolia. This year it is mainly LOTV and Magnolia.
Well thank you for looking - I hope to be back again soon (when I have managed to make another card!!

Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Hi everyone,

just a very quick post as my hubby is on his way home with a Chinese (takeaway!!)
First of all I have had to nip to Casualty with my son who came off injured at rugby - he has sprained a ligament or something - anyway he is well enough to be at the pub.

I made this card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge but I am not really keen on it - I don't know why. Also I am not sure which week the sketch was.
I thought I would still enter it though and see what you think?
My husband seems to have become quite an expert on cardmaking lately (not!!) and his opinion (for what it is worth) is that it doesn't look right because the polar bear doesn't look like a proper polar bear. It's head is the wrong shape.
Perhaps I should contact Lili of the Valley and ask them if they can change the shape of the bear's head!!!
Why do I bother asking him his opinion?

Anyway I will have to dash now. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Good Evening everyone. I am certainly very early with this entry for the Lili of the Valley Challenge - which is one for the boys.
The only reason I am early is because I am going to use the card I made for my son's birthday in August.
The paper is from Pink Petticoat but I changed the shade of it to match more with our rugby kit which is Green & Black - ooh I never realised that before, but that is the name of one of my favourite makes of chocolate. Fancy that!!
This is the card that I was going to show you tonight anyway - so here it is.

We have been to a funeral today - someone who was in the same class as me at Junior School. Very frightening!! My husband thinks I am nuts because I told him after the funeral that if I go first I want them to play "come on eileen" as they carry my coffin down the aisle!!! He said I would have to put that in writing or no-one would ever believe that I said that.
that is all for tonight - I will go and try to find some more challenge blogs now.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Just a very quick post as I have had a bit of a health problem today so I do not want to be on the computer for very long.

A few weeks ago I saved a couple of tutorials but now I cannot find the website they were on.
One was for an easel card on the top of a drawer and the other was for this gift bag.
I made them for my daughters birthday - and here they are.
I am entering the card in the Lili of the Valley Challenge.
This is the front of the bag.
This is the back of the bag
and here is the side view of the bag.
thank you for looking.

Hidden Treasures Final Fling and Just Cute Bears

Good evening to anyone who happens to hop over to my blog - thank you for stopping by.

I am very sorry that the Hidden Treasures Challenge has decided to close and I understand only too well when Kelli says that it has become too stressful. I find the same myself. I have not had much time lately plus there are other things I am wanting to do - like patchwork quilting - but all the time I feel I must try and make time to make a card and enter a challenge. I don't know why because it is very rare that I ever win one!!
Anyway, do keep in touch Kelli and good luck in whatever you are doing.

Here is my card for the final Hidden Treasures Challenge - the theme of which was Turquoise and Orange. I thought I would also tie it in with the Just Cute Bear sketch.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
We are going to an Evening Wedding do on Saturday and on Sunday we are having a get together at my nieces house because my other niece is back from Australia for 3 weeks. Hi Jude, if you get to look at this - see you Sunday. It will be nice to see my grandchildren and my sisters grandchildren all together - I am sure it will be fun.

What a miserable day it is at the moment - it is really dark and pouring down - anyone would think it was September or something.
As I am always saying, I just don't know where time goes. I have only made 1 card in the last 10 days - and I am not going to show you it today, you will have to wait until tomorrow.

Today I am going to show you the card that I made for the birth of my Granddaughter, Meriel. It is similar to a wedding one I did recently.
Here is the front

and here it is opened out as an easel card.

I really love these papers.
It was a sad day yesterday, especially for my children, because my ex-Father-in-Law passed away. He had been in hospital for some weeks but it is still sad. He was 87.
God Bless Roy.
back tomorrow.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Hi there.

Just a very quick post this morning because I am going to have my lunch, then a shower (2nd today) and then off to the hospital - so I am feeling very nervous at the moment.

I just wanted to show you my card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge.

I love these little girly stamps and I also love the paper which is from DCWV
hope you like them too.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

I know I am a bit late but on the 21st May my friend's daughter had a little boy and I have only just got round to making her a card - how awful is that???
This is the card - and I have made it for the Lili of the Valley Challenge.

I had a lot of difficulty trying to find a nice baby blue colour - I used to have some paper by American Crafts which was ideal for babies but I don't think they make it anymore.
back in a tick with another card.

Just Cute Bears Challenge

Just another quickie post - I am having a quick break from making Wedding Invitations.
Here is my card for the Just Cute Bears Challenge.
I love this little teddy bear - and the colour combo.
Teddy, of course, is from Lili of the Valley (I have used him before) who have such cute stamps - I think I must have most of them.

Speaking of Teddies - I bought myself a little Irish Teddy whilst we were over there on holiday, he is cute as well. Well I suppose I had better get back to the invites. Thank you for looking

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Well this is my final card before I go off on holiday - that is, volcano permitting. I keep hearing that some flights have been cancelled and, looking at Manchester Airport tonight, the flights to Munich are all cancelled - but hopefully we will be flying!!

Here is my card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

Sorry if the picture is not too good but I had to take it in my room tonight and the light is not too brilliant.
Another cute little bear from Lili of the Valley.
Hopefully this will be me this week with my glass of sangria and my crossword book, soaking up the sun but hopefully not getting burnt this time!
The papers and the card are from Stampin Up, the designer paper is Bella Bleu.
It wasn't until after I had finished it and looked at it properly that I thought I should have used Cream Cardstock and stamped onto cream card. But it is too late now!
Hope you like the card and I will be back in a weeks time.

PS - My husband is just shouting to me - he is watching the news and it says that lots of planes to Spain and Portugal have been grounded. Oh Dear!!

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Hi Everyone.
It has been quite an eventful week this week!!
I told you earlier about Austin being injured by falling bricks - that was Thursday.
On Friday my sister's father-in-law was found behind the door by the milkman - he had fallen.
Today I was the first up in our house - quite unusual for me. I was rather pleased with myself and had got all sorts done by the time hubby got up. Then I realized there was something wrong with my tooth - a bit of it had chipped off. I think I had been clenching my teeth in my sleep.
I went up to have my shower and cleaned my teeth first and the whole filling came out leaving me with not much tooth left. Luckily my dentist was working today so had a mad dash up there and he has filled it again.

My husband has played rugby this afternoon and has hurt his back - don't know how bad it is yet because he is still getting some anaesthetic for it - up at the pub!!
Here is a card that I am really quite like - it is for the Lili of the Valley Challenge.
The roses are actually not yellow they are more the colour of the paper - I don't know why they look like that.
I love this cat, he is so cute.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you for looking
