Hello again. Below is the Mojo Monday Sketch No 57

and this is my attempt at it.
I don't know why but neither of my sketches this week seem to be very good - perhaps I haven't had enough time to spend doing them.

Thank you to everyone who has left comments for me.

I found this video on a friend's facebook page and I thought it was really good so I asked for a copy of it.

I presume it is taken in Afghanistan or Iraq and I think it is really sad that most of the lads in it are just that - lads. I have been told that a young man who lives not far from me has been badly injured out there and he is only about 22 - how terrible for the parents of all the young men (and girls) that have been injured and killed on service out there.

Anyway, enjoy the video, I did.

Here is This week's Papertake Challenge

and here is the card I have made. The only thing is I missed off the two embellishments at either side. I forgot about them until I had put the card together and didn't want to add them afterwards.

I asked my husband if he liked it because I wasn't too sure about it, and he said it was good but not the sort that he would buy. What do you think?
I would appreciate your comments if only to let me know that someone is actually looking at my blog!

Ooh what a rough game rugby is.
I have just got back from this week's match and I am about to update our website but thought I would put this post on my blog first.
We actually won our first game this season against a team that have won all their games so far this season.
We have about 4 players (including my husband) who are over 50 and one of them had just come on as sub and made his first tackle. The other player's dad did not like it and ran on the pitch and kneed our player in the head.

Anyway back to cardmaking.
It was our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday and this is the card that I made for my husband.

It is surprising how much we have changed in the 6 years.
After having a major operation last year I don't look anything like that, unfortunately, but at least I am still here and celebrating our anniversary.
I was rather pleased with the card and I hope you like it too.

Thursday, 2 October 2008

Well it is over a week since I last posted on my blog - I have been so busy.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday my son Paul came up from Newark and my son Richard was off work for a few days. Saturday was rugby and on Tuesday my daughter and grandaughter came from Retford.

My grandaughter, Florence, has started nursery 3 days a week (whilst Claire has gone back to work) and she has really changed. She used to cry everytime she saw me but on Tuesday she wanted me to pick her up and wanted to sit on my knee, she was lovely.

Wednesday we went to Newark because my husband was doing a job at Paul's house.
In between all this I have been embroidering some of the rugby shirts and I have also embroidered t.shirts and sweatshirts with my husbands logo on. That is why I have not had time for making cards.

Today I have actually found time to make a card for my son and daughter's mother in law, Cathy, - my son and daughter are married to brother and sister therefore both have the same mother in law.
It is 4 years since her husband died so I made a card for her.

Here is another similar one that I made a few months ago and really liked it.

Thank you for looking
