Tilda goes "down Under"

Hi everyone.

One or two little interesting things for you today.

First of all it is my husband's relatives birthday- today she is called Rene. I won't confuse you by telling you what relation she is - but she is 89 years old.
She is in a home and has dementia.

We went to visit her today and took one of my home made cards.

We weren't there an hour but in that time she had picked it up numerous times and said how lovely it was and the Tilda on the front was just like her and had I made it etc.

We had taken Rene a box of choccies and some flowers and we hadn't been there long when one of the women was trying to open the chocs - and couldn't - so she asked my husband if he would open them!

The woman in the next chair asked my husband if he knew a certain man and he said No so she told him to F*** off (more than once)

Felt quite shattered when I came out.

A more interesting thing is that I have been doing my family tree for years and recently contacted my cousin's son.

He visited us on the May Day Bank Holiday and it turns out that his sister is in the crafting business as well - but much more involved than I am.

I just could not believe it when I heard who she is - I am sure many of you will know her - her name is Liz Armstrong and here is a link to her blog - don't laugh at the photo!!

Anyway back to my card now and here it is

and Magnolia Down Under - which is your favourite things (I love this stamp)

Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy your evening

Well I think I would have told that woman to F off back LOL to see what she would have said then! Those sort of places do wear you down a bit and you certainly don't have to be there long! Well isn't it a small world, fancy being related to her! Great card, love the image and the colour tones. Enjoy your evening. Hugs, Claire x

Eileen, what an amazing story - firstly your description of the care home residents was so moving (my Dad suffered with Alzheimers for 7 years before he died), and the fact that you are "Aunty" to Liz of Pink Petticoat fame is amazing too - the crafting gene must run in your family! Love the photograph too. THanks for sharing - hugs, Sylvia xxx

Fabulous card, it looks just like Rene.
My post yesterday the spacing was just like yours big gaps but not on the create post section, I got quite a shock when I saw the post.
