Friday Sketchers

Well this will be my last post now for over a week.

I want to show you the card I have made for my son and daughter in law's wedding anniversary and here it is.

I love this Sarah Kay stamp so I thought it would do fine for this card.
I have also used the Martha Stewart hearts border punch.
I can't remember where the paper is from or who it is by.

Thank you for looking - I am off to finish my packing now.
When I get back I will get round to looking at the blogs of all the people who have left comments for me - so please continue to leave them.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Oh no! Have I got Swine Flu?
I don't think so really. When I saw Florence on Tuesday morning she had a cough and now I have started with one as well.

Only 3 full days left now before we go to Cape Verde on Thursday morning. I am frantically trying to get everything done and still find time to do my cards.

I also have to make a card for my son & daughter-in-law's wedding anniversary on the 3rd of August and it will be my birthday whilst we are away.

The Papertake challenge laid down certain colours to use for this weeks card and I have chosen Pink & Green (one of my favourite colour combos)
Here is my card

hope you like it - thank you for stopping by.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Hi everyone.
Well the weather hasn't been as bad as expected - only really one downpour of rain and that was just as I was about to leave for the hairdresses!! Typical.

Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge.
I used the 6x6 MME papers but I am not sure if I like them as much as the 12x12 sheets.
I also used distress ink round the edges and coloured the image with Copics.

Thank you very much for looking

FOLLOWERS

I know that I only had 11 followers but they were important to me.
I do not know what has happened - apparently it is some problem with Blogger - but they have all disappeared from my list.
If you were following my blog PLEASE will you register again and see if that will solve the problem?
Aren't computers annoying?
thank you

I just thought I would show you my lovely white flowers from the front garden. They have been really nice this year and have looked so white and clean. Unfortunately they are now starting to die off.

Tuesday was my daughter Claire's birthday so I went down to see her and we all went shopping. Unfortunately Florence had a bit of a cough and wasn't just up to the mark so she wasn't all over Grandma like she usually is.

Today Claire rang to say that whilst they were away last night poor Florence had fallen and cut her forehead. They took her to hospital and she had it steri stripped but today she had to see the Plastic Surgeon who has stitched it under anaesthetic. Poor Baby!!
Here is the Birthday Card that I made for Claire - sorry Julie I have pinched your idea!!!
It is a Trifold one - above is the front and below is the inside
thank you for looking

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Well I have managed to sort out my computer now so let's hope I don't have any more problems.
I was so dissapointed this weekend because I had wanted to go off somewhere on our own for the day on Saturday (to a craft shop or two) but instead my husband ended up doing something in the morning and being late home. His "I will only be an hour at the most" always turns into quite a few hours and it is so annoying.
When he did come home his friend had rung him to sort out a "holiday". We need to go over to Cape Verde at some point this year and his friend wants to go this Thursday or the Thursday after because his wife is a school teacher and of course has to go in school holidays.
I know most people will think that I am absolutely mad but we have already been abroad twice this year and I did not really want to go again - I don't believe that flying does your body any good.
Anyway I don't want to bore you so I will just say that David and his friends went into town Saturday and booked for us to go to Cape Verde a week this Thursday (30th July) so that was the end of my day out.

Yes, Kath, I know that you will be saying "Poor David, I bet he's in the doghouse again" and yes he was!!
Anyway enough of that and down to my card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge and here it is

I bought this Penny Black stamp ages ago and could never colour it properly but I have used my copics and I am quite happy with it. The papers are from Papermania Blueberry Hill (as I am sure you will all recognise)
Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with a picture of my Daughter's birthday card - she is 36 tomorrow!! I can't believe it. I only feel 36 myself!!

Friday, 17 July 2009

Hi - what an awful day it is today, absolutely pouring down. At least I can get some crafting done without feeling guilty about not doing gardening or washing etc that I like to do when the weather is good.

I was wondering what Internet Explorer you all use. I was quite happily using IE 7 when I got one of those update things about updating to IE8. It said that security etc was better and so I updated but I seem to have had nothing but trouble with it since. I cannot get on to Bev's blog, and certain other blogs, because I keep getting a message saying "cannot connect to this internet site, operation aborted" and now my tabs have gone all funny - it is really annoying me.

Perhaps some of you with more experience than me might be able to help me?

Just Magnolia Challenge

Hi everyone,
I hope I am in time for this Magnolia Challenge.
I apologize for the quality of the photo but I usually like to take my photos in the dining room during the day because it is nice and light in there. Unfortunately, seeing as I have only just finished the card, I have had to take the photo in my craft room and the light is not just as good.
Anyway here is the card and I hope you like it.

I think that this is my very favourite Magnolia Stamp.
see you soon!!

Stamp with Stampavie

I can't believe that it is so long since I blogged and I do apologize to everyone - I hope that you all haven't lost interest in my blog.

The fact is that I have been dizzy and tired since the beginning of June and have found it hard to focus on colouring so this last week I have been doing my family tree instead.

However I received an email which said "For goodness sake get on with the cardmaking, getting fed up of looking at your blog and nothing on there, so will other people. People want to see your cards not your life history, they are not interested in your daily happenings, just your cards."
So I thought I had better pull my finger out and get making some cards.

I have done just that this morning and here is my card for the Stampavie Challenge.

Hope you like it - I love the stamp with the cute little puppy.
I am going to have my lunch now and then hopefully get out in the garden - and pick my peas and eat them all!!!

Well here is the photo of Susie - our dog for the day.
I think she is really cute. As you can see she has one ear that stands up and one that doesnt.
I have decided that she is definitely a man's dog. I took her out for a walk yesterday morning and had to drag her the whole way. Me and David took her out at night and she walked fine for him. As soon as he came home from work she fetched her ball and wanted to play.
Mind you, she didn't do anything for his macho image. We were walking along when 3 dogs were coming the other way and when I turned round to look at her David was carrying her!!! Better not tell the rugby lads!
She is a really lovely dog and was so good in the car but not so good at night.
It was a very long day!!

The Christening on Sunday went very well and we all had a lovely meal afterwards. The 4 children there were very well behaved. Austin (who was being Christened) slept through part of the service - till it was time to have the water poured on him. My little Florence was so cute and looked gorgeous in her little dress.

Here is the photo of the card I made. This is the front (I am sure you have noticed that)

and here is my poem on the back page.

hope you like it.
