Dawns Inkadink Blog Candy

I am very disappointed - it looks like I haven't won Dawn's last Blog Candy which looked fantastic.
Anyway she has another one up for grabs so hop over to her website and take part in this blog candy, which looks equally as good.
Sorry it is only a short post - back to glossing the woodwork today.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

I bet "Our Kath" is really disappointed with me.
It was her birthday on Saturday and I haven't even wished her a Happy Birthday on my Blog.
Of course I went down to see her on her birthday but I have just not mentioned it on here - I don't know where the time goes.

I will just tell you though that Kath retires today so she will have plenty of time for crafting now! Happy Retirement Kath, you deserve it.
I did make a joke on Saturday that she will be retiring Wednesday and getting divorced the Wednesday after! (her husband is still at home after his stroke so by the time they have had a full week together, who knows?) Only kidding really.

Back to this weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge and it is my final week as Guest Designer. Thank you for the opportunity to take part in your design team, I have really enjoyed it. Here is my card

The papers I have used are from The Hobby House and are by Black Market Paper Society. I have coloured the image with Copics.

Thank you for looking.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good morning everyone!!

I am sorry that I have not been posting regularly but we have started decorating the lounge & dining room and I have been busy stripping wallpaper. Today I am going for a walk and then I am going to sand some of the paintwork, so my hands will be so rough by the time I have finished!

Although I have enjoyed the snow, it is nice to be able to get out and about again.

The Whiff of Joy Challenge this week is to use 4 papers, 3 bling and 2 flowers. I am not very much into bling and you might not be able to see it, but the bling I have used is the glitter on the flowers, the glitter on the cupcakes and the three gemstones. I hope that passes as "bling".
I am not really sure what the papers are because they were loose in my drawer so I don't know what collection they are from. Perhaps someone might like to tell me?
Anyway - here is my card.

thank you for looking - please continue to do so.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good morning everyone - well not such a good morning, my husband says there was black ice about when he went to work.
I am going for my pedicure today - I put it off last week because of the weather so I can't cancel again. The thing is when I have had it done I have to wear sandals!!! That will be really good won't it on black ice. The things we women do!

Anyway back to business and here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge

The paper is by Melissa Frances but I am not sure where I got it from, I have had it a few months. I have used copics for the colouring. Hope you like the card luv Eileen x

Ovarian Cancer

Just a quick blog to let you know that once again I am donating 20p a card to Ovarian Cancer for all the Christmas cards I have made this last year. I haven't checked yet but there will be over 100 so it will be at least £20. I know that isn't much so I will probably add a bit extra as well.

I have just had a telephone call from the local weekly newspaper. I have some of my rugby photos published in it and we usually invite the editor and his wife and the sports reporter and his wife to our end of season bash. I send them both a Christmas Card and they have shown it to one of the lady reporters and she wants to do an article about me having had Ovarian Cancer and the cards that I make. I have to have a think about it and decide what to do. Only thing is I don't really want to have my picture in the paper!!!

Anyway I will be back tomorrow with my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge.
see you soon.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good Morning Everyone.

Well we have even more snow today and it was forecast that last night would be -5 and it feels like that today!!
Today I have both my husband and son at home - my son couldn't get to work and my husband is doing his paperwork (at least that is what he tells me when he is hiding in his office upstairs!!)

The Whiff of Joy Challenge this week was to make a card using Aqua and Red so I just had this little bit of Daisy Bucket Paper left which I thought would do nicely.
I wanted to put different flowers on really but I didn't have any the right colour so used the Prima Hydrangeas.

This Whiff of Joy stamp is one of my favourites (excluding the Christmas ones). I based the sketch on another challenge but I am not sure whether I can enter both with this card. Hope you likeit. Luv Eileen x

Christmas Cards

What a lovely day it is today!
We have got even more snow today and everything looks really lovely. I know it is alright for me being at home but it is not so good for people who have to go to work.

My son set off at 8am this morning but I really don't know how he will go on getting home because even the main roads are not so clear. I don't think our estate has been clear since Christmas Eve. He is like me, he doesn't like driving in the snow. I haven't driven my car since before Christmas.

We went for a walk on Sunday but it was very icy and slippy. Today is much better because the snow is quite thick.
Here is a photo taken on our walk.

I was just sorting some photos out and I thought I would let you have a look at some of the Christmas Cards I made this year.

I love all these Tilda stamps and the Magnolia paper as well. I will be back tomorrow with my Whiff of Joy Card. Luv eileen x

Happy New Year

Hi Everyone - if there is anyone out there looking at my blog!
Sorry I have not had time to do any blogging - I know a lot of people haven't either.
I do not have a card for you yet but wanted to wish everyone

A Happy & Healthy New Year.

I went for my check up on the 16th December and everything was fine, I do not have to go back till June this year, so that was an early Christmas present for me.
We went for our Rugby dinner and my husband insisted that I wore a dress - "all the women and girls will have dresses on" is what he said. There were only two of us in a dress the others wore trousers!!! Nevertheless we did have a good time.

We had a lovely time Christmas Day with all the family, even though it was a bit rushed. Apparently my grandaughter, Florence, woke up the next day and said "More again". Claire said "more what?" and she said "Grandma's House." Then later she said "More again" and Claire said "more what?" and she said "Father Christmas Come". She arrived at our house with her Hoover and was hoovering all over the place - just a pity it doesn't actually work. Then she was busy feeding and changing her babies and going shopping - she is only 2!!

Well I will be looking forward to getting back to normal and having everyone back at work and out from under my feet so that I can get some cards made.

I will have a card for you on Wednesday.
