Stamp with Fun Challenge

Rush, Rush, Rush!!
That is what today has been like - I have had so many things to do but keep getting side-tracked. I have just about finished my packing and got cleaned up (apart from my craft room) so I am going to post these two cards for you to look at and then hopefully we might get an early night. Richard will be back about 1.30am and we are leaving at 4.30am (did you know such a time existed???) - at least I might get some sleep on the plane.

My first card is for the Stamp with Fun challenge and here it is:-

I have used Stampin Up papers and Copic Markers.

My second card is for the Paper Makeup Stamp Challenge but I have just realized that I haven't used one of their stamps.

As you can see, I have used the same Whiff of Joy Stamp but the papers are from Basic Grey.
Sorry I will have to dash now - I will be back blogging in just over a week so please pop back and hopefully I will have some more cards for you.
Thank you for looking.

Mojo Monday Challenge

Hi there.
First of all I want to thank everyone for leaving me such lovely comments. I know I keep saying it but it really does mean so much to me and I appreciate it so much. I would also like to thank the people who have decided to "Follow me" and I hope they are not disappointed.
Tomorrow will be the last time that I will be posting for just over a week because we fly to Crete in the early hours of Thursday morning (well it is early for me). I think we actually fly about 7.30am but will have to leave home about 4.30am, by which time our Richard should have landed back from Egypt. Of course we would have to have had all this rain just before we go away, when I am wanting to get my washing dry and my grass cut etc. I have never been anywhere in Greece or the Greek Islands before so if any of you have and want to let me know what it is like please leave me a comment - no horror stories though please!!
Below is my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge - when am I going to win one of these challenges????

I coloured the image using my new copic markers that I definitely wasn't going to buy. I love this paper, I have used it quite a lot. It is by My Mind's Eye.
I have used the same paper for the Sketch and Stash Challenge but with a Funky Kits stamp.

hope you like them - I will be back tomorrow with another card.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Well I have to say that I was really miffed yesterday. We went to my son (Paul) & daughter-in-law's (Col) house in Newark and my daughter (Claire), her husband (Steve) and the gorgeous Miss Florence came as well.
When it was time for Florence to go home she did the rounds giving everyone a kiss - she went to Col, Paul, Me and then my husband David and when she had given him a kiss she said "Love You". We couldn't believe our ears - she isn't even 2 years old yet! It was really funny - but I couldn't get her to say that to me, she only said it to David. The tinker!
Anyway I have made a card for the Just Magnolia Challenge but I don't know whether I really like it or not, I can't decide. Here it is.

Thank you for looking.

Unscripted Sketches

Don't you just hate those days where you know just what you want to get done but then the day goes by and you haven't got anything done that you wanted to. Well today is one of those days!
Anyway I am looking forward to going out for my tea tonight - if David hasn't changed his mind when he gets home.
Itsabrt left a comment on my blog and suggested I took part in Unscripted Sketches Saturday Challenge and whilst looking at Itsabrt's blog I found this fantastic Blog Candy on Debbie's Blog -so I will attempt to put a link to it. I would so like to win it.
Here is the card I have made for the Unscripted Sketches Challenge, the only thing is that I have a full set of Pro Markers but none of them matched the pink on the paper so today I have had to nip and buy a couple of Copic Markers and they do match.

If anyone has any tips on using Copic Markers please email me with a bit of tuition. Thank you.

Thanks for stopping by

Just Magnolia Challenge

Back again with another challenge - I hadn't realized that this one existed until I checked the blog of Rach who had left me a comment.
I am sorry but I have used the same Tilda stamp again - because I really like it!!
This back ground paper is really lovely and has little chickens on - but you can't see them because they are covered by the shapes etc.
thank you for taking time to look.

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards

First of all I would really like to thank all the kind people who have left me such lovely comments on my blog - they are really appreciated.

One of those people was Krumel and when I visited her blog I found a new challenge - Just Christmas and Birthday cards.
So here is my card to go with the sketch for this week.

Thank you Krumel for introducing me to this challenge - hope you like the card.

Mojo Monday Challenge

PLEASE DO NOT LOOK TOO CLOSELY AT THIS CARD - and I don't want any tittering!!!
It is the first time that I have had a go at sewing round the edges of cards and I am a bit rusty on the machine - the last time I used it was for embroidering the rugby shirts. I have made a few mistakes but didn't want to waste the card so thought I would submit it anyway.

I will get some practice in on the machine - promise!

Cupcake Craft Challenge

It has been a lovely day today but it is becoming a bit cloudy now so I hope it isn't going to rain.
Our Richard is off to Egypt tomorrow for a week so at least he will have had a bit of nice sunny weather before he sets off for the red hot climate over there.
I have been for a walk this morning and then for my hair cutting, again - I am very gradually going a bit shorter but haven't got back to my short hair that I had in my blog photo. It is only the second time I have had it cut since it started growing back - which is now about 15 months ago - so what I have saved on haircuts I have spent on crafting stuff!! Well that is only fair isn't it?
Anyway here is my card for the Cupcake Challenge - I keep submitting these cards but have never won anything yet! One day!
Hope you like it.

Challenges

What an absolutely gorgeous day it is today - the sun is shining and it is so hot.
I went for a walk early this morning and then spent the rest of the morning in the garden.
Last week I planted 6 lettuce in a grow bag in the greenhouse and 3 of them have been eaten by snails!! Horrible things.

I thought that this card would do for 2 challenges - the Friday Sketchers and Stamp Something.
Actually Friday 17th April would have been my Aunty Lily's birthday (bet you didn't remember that Kath!) and the 19th of April was my sister-in-law's 50th Birthday (but I know she won't be looking at my blog so there was no point in wishing her Happy 50th)

I rather like the blue, yellow & green - what do you think?
On Saturday my sister and I are going for a card class with Julie so we are both looking forward to that - see what we can learn.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

I haven't had much chance for making cards really this last couple of days.

I went to my daughter's yesterday for most of the day and my grand-daughter, Florence, was an absolute delight.
She is 1 year and 8 months old and she sings her version of Baa Baa Black Sheep (with actions) and seems to understand so much of what people say to her. She kept wanting me to pick her up or play with her, which was absolutely brilliant. She was so entertaining.

Anyway to move on to cards - here is my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge, which was to use black & white and one more colour.

Sorry that the lighting on the photo is not too good.
If you are passing by, please leave me a comment as I love to hear from anyone and everyone.
thanks a lot

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Here is my final card for today.

Yesterday David took me over to The Hobby House near Grimsby - it was a really nice run over there - it took about an hour and a half. Jill has a lovely shop there with some of my favourite stamps in stock so of course I had to buy a few. I also bought some more Basic Grey paper which she had on special offer and here is a card that I made using some of that paper. The only thing is that I was not happy with the flower so I have since taken that off and put another one on that matches better - but I was too lazy to take another photo of it. Sorry!!
I have also used one of my new stamps that I got from Funky Kits - one of the Gorjuss girls that I have been waiting for. I hope you like it.

Jill's shop is in a small garden centre so we had a look round it and they had some gorgeous parrots and birds in aviaries there. We then went on to Cleethorpes which I was very surprised to find was very, very busy.
We had a lovely day out - and Jill is just such a lovely person.

Basic Grey Challenge

I think this is the first time I have taken part in this challenge and I do have quite a few Basic Grey papers so I thought I would give it a go.
The challenge was to use something Chocolatey so I have used a paper from the Sultry Pad which is a bit mint chocolate with the green and brown but it also has a hint of pink.

The Stamp is a Sugar Nellie Stamp (I think) from Funky Kits and I have coloured it using Pro Markers.
I will be back soon with another card.

Ruby Wedding Anniversary

I hope everyone has had a really lovely Easter - I have been thinking it was Monday all day today!! The weather has been lovely as well - sometimes it can be quite cold at Easter.

Well, as I told you on Saturday, it was "our Kath's" Ruby Wedding Anniversary on Sunday and here is the card I made for Kath & Chris.

and here is the inside.

As you can tell, I used a lovely Penny Black Stamp that I had in my stash of stamps and some Daisy Bucket papers.
I hope you like it.

CHALLENGES

Well I have managed to find time to do some blogging - people probably think I am a bit sad, staying in blogging whilst they are out enjoying themselves - but I am enjoying myself doing this so that is all that matters. My husband and son are up at the pub after rugby - again!!

I would like to wish my Sister and Brother-in-Law (Kath & Chris) a very Happy Ruby Wedding Anniversary for tomorrow, Easter Sunday - I will post my card for them later. I don't want to put it on here before they have seen it. I can't believe it is 40 years since they got married, it doesn't seem 2 minutes since - I really don't know where the time goes.

My first card is for Monday's Papertake Challenge and I really love the colours of this one. I have waited quite a while for this stamp to come back into stock but I have finally got it. I have also finally managed to get hold of some of the Gorjuss Girl stamps so I will be using those some time this week.

My next card is for Friday Sketchers and I had quite a bit of trouble with this. I coloured it to match some paper which I had stuck on to the card and then, when I was going to stick the image on, the paper looked too busy for the image so I had to change my mind on the paper. I was quite pleased with the result in the end.

Hope you like them.
My husband is working tomorrow but he has promised to take me off to some stamp shop on the Monday so I will look forward to that.
Thanks for looking and have a lovely Easter.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

First of all, in case I don't get chance to post in the next day or so, may I take this opportunity of wishing everyone a very Happy Easter. I would also like to say a big thank you to all of you who have stopped by to look at my blog. Thank you.
The first card I have to show you tonight is similar to one that I did for a 50th Birthday card - I just changed the wording on the round sentiment.

Aren't the colours just gorgeous?

The second card is for two challengers - the Whiff Of Joy Challenge - I think this is the first time I have taken part in it - probably because I only just bought some Whiff of Joy stamps at the Harrogate Show, and also the Sketch and Stash Challenge.

Hope you like them both. Thank you for stopping by.

Friday Sketchers

What a hectic, but enjoyable weekend it has been.
First of all on Saturday I dashed up to watch my husband play rugby believing the kick off time to be 2.30pm as usual. Arrived bang on 2.30pm only to find that they had kicked off at 2pm but noboday had bothered to let me know. I had just got arrived and noticed David looking at his leg and then he came limping off. Someone had kicked him on the shin with their stud and blood was literally pumping out of his leg - his sock was just full of blood. That was it, the physio didn't want him to go back on. So that was a waste of time going up there. He didn't want to come home with me and he didn't want to go to the hospital so I came home once it had stopped bleeding.
My gorgeous grand-daughter arrived and was wanting me to go everywhere with her - which was fantastic because at one time she always used to cry at me. Here is a photo of us both although it is not a very good one.
The rest of the weekend was as I had said in my post on Saturday.

Today I have been for a nice long walk and then done a bit of gardening.
I have also made a card for the Friday Sketchers challenge and here it is.
You might have noticed that I really like this stamp and also the paper I have used which is from Stampin Up.

Cupcake Craft Challenges

What a lovely day it is today - a beautiful sunny day, but actually quite cold out.
Just time to post this card before I get off to the rugby - David is playing today so I will go and cheer him on.

We have quite a busy weekend coming up. My daughter and her husband and my grand-daughter, Florence, are coming up and staying overnight!!! It will be the first time Florence has stayed so I think I will be quite tired by tomorrow.

Then tomorrow my son and daughter-in-law are coming up. We will be picking my step daughter up and taking her shopping to get something for her birthday - which is tomorrow - and then we are all going out for Sunday lunch (but it will be about 2pm). Will need to have a good rest on Monday to get over the weekend.

Also tomorrow it will be 2 years since we had to have our Bess put to sleep - I still miss her!
Anyway here is the card for the Cupcake Challenge.

And here is Lauren's Birthday card - it is more or less the same as the Mojo Monday one.

I will have to dash now or I will be late for rugby.

Thursday, 2 April 2009

Hello again.

I know it is a bit late, and he will be in bed by now, but I would like to say Happy Birthday to my gorgeous grand nephew, Ethan. He is 4 today. I have been up to see him this afternoon and he was really looking forward to his Granddad going up at teatime so that he could set his trampoline up for him that his Daddy had bought him for his birthday. His Daddy couldn't do it because he is away at sea and isn't due home until June.

I thought I would show you the card that I made for Ethan. Last year sometime I bought some Thomas the Tank Engine paper, stickers and die cuts. Of course I put them away "somewhere" and, after searching for ages, I did manage to find the paper and stickers but still haven't found the die cuts.

and here is the inside

Hope you like the card.

Mojo Monday Challenge

Well Hello to anyone who happens to have stopped by to read my blog!!
I am back from holiday and ready to get stuck into making some cards. We had a fabulous time in Tenerife and managed to get a bit of tan - which was much needed because I always look so pale nowadays.

My sister, Kath, and myself went to the Craft Show at Harrogate on Sunday and I was very disappointed to find that one of my favourite stalls selling Penny Black Stamps had pulled out of the show. They always have such lovely cards, and the first stamps that I really loved were Penny Black ones.
Anyway my disappointment was soon forgotten when I found the Hobby House stall and spent quite a bit of money there on Whiff of Joy stamps and Sarah Kay stamps and other goods as well.

I have used one of the Whiff of Joy stamps for my Mojo Monday card - below - and I have also used some new papers I got from one of the stalls at Harrogate but I don't know what it was called. I think it was strange at Harrogate because quite a few of the stalls didn't seem to have their name up so, if you were not familiar with them, you don't know who they are. The paper is by My Mind's Eye.

Hope you like it - I will be back tomorrow with another card.
