Good morning everyone - well it is a bit rainy here actually. I am sorry that I have not been entering any challenges or posting on my blog lately but I have been so busy - I am sure you all have as well.
I wonder how you are all doing with your preparations for Christmas? I am struggling a bit and I am still making my cards and I wrapped my first pressie last night.
My husband is being a bit of a Scrooge (as usual), not money wise but he is not putting the big tree up this year!! Bah humbug!! He has bought a real tree for outside and a set of lights for it - which together cost a small fortune - and decided that will do! He never gets into the Christmas Spirit, which disappoints me because I love Christmas. I am quite sure that he thinks the best thing about Christmas is going for a drink (or 2 or 10) when he finishes work Christmas Eve. Although I must admit we are going out on Monday night for our Rugby Christmas Dinner.
Well here is the card that I have made for the Whiff of Joy Challenge - I think it might be the first card I have made using this stamp so I hope you like it.
Thank you for looking

Whiff of Joy Challenge
Good morning everyone.
I am up nice and early today so hopefully I might get a few cards made.
Are you all ready for Christmas?
I have bought most of my pressies now and just need to wrap them, which I love doing.
I still have quite a few cards to make. I wonder if you all make all the cards you send or do you just make special ones? I would love to know how other people find the time if they make them all, so please leave me a comment.
Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge - which was to do something sparkly.
I have used Magnolia papers and of course the stamp is Skiing Henry from Whiff of Joy.
thank you for stopping by.

Senior Moments
I really don't know what is wrong with me lately - I have been having quite a few senior moments!!
First of all I sent the cards off to Australia and Hong Kong and then realized that I had forgotten to take photos of them.
Yesterday I went to the rugby. I take the photos there and if I get a good one I send it to the local paper. I had been having trouble with my camera - the shutter speed is not fast enough really. I spent the whole of the first half taking photos and luckily it was a nice day. I was trying to get a photo of one of our lads scoring a try but didn't get out of the way quick enough and was knocked over by one of the opposing team's players.
I then thought I would mess about with the settings on the camera because the light was fading and I don't know how I did it but I managed to erase all the photos I had taken in the first half. I just could not believe it - especially as two of them were team photos in our brand new strip.
At least today we have had quite a good day out at Lincoln market.
back soon with some cards (hopefully)

Just Magnolia Challenge
Just got time to submit this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge
I actually made it a few days ago but just didn't get round to putting the flower on it and now I have ended up being in a rush - how silly is that?
Again the photo could be better but once again I have had to take it in artificial light.
The papers are by Magnolia as well as the stamps.

Whiff of Joy Challenge
I was well stressed last night!
My car had gone in to the garage and I didn't get it back till this morning and now I have lots of errands to do as well as trying to get my Christmas cards done.
I am doing a special card for my niece, Jude, in Australia and my husband's relatives in Hong Kong. They have to be posted by Friday so I am really rushing to get those done. When I have finished them I will post them on my blog. Meanwhile I will try to find where I got the idea from. I saw it on someone's blog and thought I would have a go at it. There weren't any instructions so I don't know if I have done it right or not.
I only just received the sketch for the Whiff of Joy Challenge last night at 8.30pm so unfortunately I don't think that the card is one of my best. It has not photographed very well and the dress looks a bit lighter than it is. Also I tried to blog it so that it appeared on my blog today but it didn't seem to work and in the end I had to delete it. Stress! Stress! Stress!
Anyway here is the card
I really like this range of papers although I have had them for a few years and have used them for men's birthday cards as well as for Christmas cards.
I hope you like the card - please feel free to leave a comment, even if you don't like it!

Just Magnolia Challenge
Well I just cannot believe it!!
I am sorry that the lighting on this card is not so good but I had to take the photo tonight because I hadn't finished it during the day.
I have actually won this weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge which is absolutely brilliant. The only thing is that I am a nervous wreck now because I will be Guest Designer for 3 weeks - I am sure my mind will just go blank and I won't be able to think of anything.
Thank you to Whiff of Joy for chosing my card using the Random Generator.
On to this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge which is to do masking.
I am sorry that the lighting on this card is not so good but I had to take the photo tonight because I hadn't finished it during the day.
I have used two stamps on this card - Tilda and the bench with the Holly.
I just love this colour scheme.
The papers are Magnolia and the flowers are from Tabbycraft.
I have used some Copics and some Promarkers.
I hope you like it.
I am in a bit of a panic now because I have about 100 of my own Christmas Cards to make and it has taken me 2 days to make 10!!!
Back soon, thank you for looking

Stamp Something Challenge
Back at last!!
It seems ages since I posted a card on my blog - life has just been so hectic. As I have said before, I just don't know where you all find the time to make such fantastic and fancy cards, especially when some of you have young families.
Anyway here is my card for the Stamp Something Challenge.
The papers I have used are from Basic Grey, Eskimo Kisses range and the stamp is from Funky Kits.
I love this stamp but don't think I have coloured it too well.
I will be back tomorrow with another card.

Well they say that things go in threes - let's hope that is it!!
Last Tuesday Our Kath's husband had a stroke and was in hospital from Friday till Monday.
I had toothache from Wednesday till about Sunday - even though I had the tooth removed on Friday!!
Today my daughter drove up from Retford and got within a few hundred yards of our house when she had a bump. Like my sister said, What has happened to that little law about people having right of way in certain conditions? There were parked cards near the shops and my daughter was coming past them the opposite way but a pick up decided to barge his way through anyway and as he did so someone in a parked car opened his door. The driver swerved and his back end pulled out and damaged all down one side of my daughters car - which happened to be the side where her 2 year old daughter was sat. Fortunately no-one was injured.
She then spent the rest of the day on the phone with the insurance people, which is another thing that is really annoying. I am not at all racist, but why is it that when you ring a helpline or ring about an insurance claim or any other problem that you may have, you always get put through to someone in India who cannot understand you and you cannot understand them! What is the point in having "helplines" who cannot help because they haven't a clue what your or them are on about!! Is this what they call progress?
Anyway I am hoping that this week is going to pick up and I will have some time to do some cards.
back soon,

FRIDAY THE 13th
Sorry for not blogging much this week but on Wednesday I woke up with a bit of toothache which gradually got worse. Went to the dentist Thursday but my dentist, Steve, wasn't there so had to see someone else who said she could take the tooth out there and then.
I thought "No Way" I will wait until I can see Steve on Friday and see what he suggests.
I do not trust dentists after having had to take one to court for totally ruining my teeth - a long story but I had gone every 6 months for routine inspections since being a child. When he decided to go private I went to Steve who sent me to see a consultant at the hospital who said there was a lot of work to do. I had a half hour appointment every week for a year and lost two teeth.
I was up all last night in terrible pain so saw Steve first thing this morning and I have now lost my third tooth! Well it is Friday the 13th isn't it?
It is also my mum's birthday today - she would have been 88.
back soon - have a lovely weekend.

Crafts 4 Eternity
Another card for you - this time I have managed to make the challenge on time. It is for the Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge.
I am rather pleased with it and my even use it for my own Christmas Cards.
The Challenge was not only to use the sketch but also a paperclip and two ribbons - which I have done.
The turquoise coloured paper is from The Hobby House and it is by Bo Bunny. Of course the stamp is the lovely Henry Mouse from Whiff of Joy - I love these stamps, he is so cute isn't he?
Must go now - I am going to have a toasted currant teacake for my supper, I have looked forward to it all evening.

Happy Anniversary to Claire & Steve.
Today is my daughter and son-in-law's 9th Wedding Anniversary. They got married at the Little Chapel of Sweet Memories (I think that is right) in Las Vegas 9 years ago. It was fantastic and I even had my photo taken with Elvis and his pink cadilac (don't know how to spell it).
Here is the card that I have made for them.
I am sorry but I can't remember who the papers are by or where they are from but I really like them.

Create 4 fun Challenge
Back again.
I have just been to see a podiatrist about all the problems I have with my feet - I hate the thought of winter coming and having to wear shoes instead of sandals. She says I have osteo-arthritis in my big toe which is causing the trouble. There is always something isn't there, especially when you are getting older like me.
Anyway here is the card that I have made for the Create 4 Fun Challenge.
I have used Basic Grey papers from the Eskimo Kisses range and the stamp is from Whiff of Joy.

Sketch and Stash Challenge
Well I just don't know where this week has gone to at all!!
On Sunday I went to The Dome and had a really good time. I met my daughter and, whilst we had a look round the craft show, her husband Steve took Florence swimming and my husband took his daughter swimming. Me and Claire went back to the car for our sandwiches and watched Florence in the pool. She was just coming down one of the slides and she loved it - she is only 2, bless.
Yesterday I met Claire again but Florence was at nursery. We met at Meadowhall to do a bit of Chrissie shopping. We were there from 10am till 4.30pm and then I got stuck in traffic on the way home and it took me twice as long to get home as it had taken to get there. It was such a tiring day that I didn't get up until 9am this morning.
Anyway on the the cards. Here is my entry for the Sketch and Stash Challenge. The photo is not so good as I had to use my reserve camera.
The stamp is Whiff of Joy and the papers are some that I got last year from a shop in Newark, but can't remember the name off hand.
hope you like it.

Back again folks with my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge

I am just quickly fitting this post in between doing my cleaning upstairs and my ironing.
Here is my card for the Papertake Challenge.
The papers are from the Forever Friends pad and the stamp is the Whiff of Joy one that I have used numerous times. I think these colours look really nice and cool. I did make a mistake with the circle, I forgot to put it on before the ribbon so just had to poke it underneath the ribbon - you can probably tell!!.
Thank you for looking and have a great weekend.

Stampavie and More Challenge
Well I think winter has arrived!!
I have been for a walk this morning and I was frozen when I set off and wished I had put my gloves on. Yesterday it seemed more like autumn but today more like winter. I will have to change into my winter skirts if it stays like this.
Moving on to cards, here is my entry for the Stampavie and more challenge, the theme of which is "Christmas". I was very lucky because I had actually made this card for the sketch the week before but, always being late, I missed it, but the card actually ties in with this weeks challenge, so all is not lost. You might have noticed that nearly all my cards lately have been Christmas ones, that is because I am trying to get some ideas for my own cards.
Will have to dash now, I am going for my haircutting.

Stamp with Fun Challenge
Good Evening everyone and Hi to our Kath if she is tuning in from Australia, I hope you are having a brilliant time.
We have been over to Skipton today to Embsay Crafts where they had people demonstrating different things in the Village Hall. It was very busy but I can't say that I bought anything much. This is just a quick post because we have been out since about 10.30 this morning. We called at Keighley Tarn and stopped to eat our sandwiches there. There were loads and loads of ducks, seagull type birds and different species of water fowl and a few geese and a couple of swans. David gave them some of the bread from his sandwich and we gave them a packet of cheese and onion crisps, which they actually ate.
We bought some bread in Skipton and called back there on our way home and it was like the feeding of the five thousand - the bread didn't seem to go anywhere.
We called at various places on the way home and had our tea out and we have just got back.
After all that I have made it quite a long post now!!
So here is my card for the Stamp with Fun Challenge.

Whiff of Joy Challenge
I am just enjoying Peace & Quiet!!
My husband and son have gone to Lincoln overnight - perhaps I should apologize in advance to anyone who lives there, having to put up with our rugby team invading their city. Hope they don't cause too much chaos!!!
I am really enjoying just being able to do what I want, when I want, and tonight I will watch what I want on the tele. I will have my tea when I want - and I have treated myself to some fillet steak, so I am looking forward to that.
"Our Kath" and my brother-in-law, Chris, flew to Australia on Thursday to visit their daughter Jude - Hi to you all if you get chance to read this. I have seen the itinery (don't know if that is spelt right) and I think they will need a long rest when they get back, they are going to be so busy.
It seems so strange really Kath being at the other side of the world for 3 weeks, I will want to keep ringing her to tell her little bits of silly things. Anyway I am sure they will have a fantastic time.
I think I must be going a bit senile or something because I thought the Whiff of Joy Challenge had finished, but it doesn't end until 11th October so here is another attempt at a card - this time using the correct stamp.
The papers are by My Mind's Eye.
Thank you for looking and for all the comments.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge
I have two cards to show you this evening. The first one I did was for the Stamp with Fun challenge but I didn't finish it in time.
I used the same stamp for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge and I am just about in time for that one
The paper I have used on them both is by Basic Grey.

Our Wedding Anniversary
Back again to show you another card.
It is our Wedding Anniversary today but I am not sure yet whether my husband has remembered or not!!
Here is the card that I have made for him.
I thought I would tie it in with a challenge so have used the sketch from Friday Sketchers
Challenge and the Challenge from the Creative Card Crew, which is a "Celebration"
The paper is some that I have had for ages and is from Art from the Heart - I can't remember the name of the range of paper.
The stamp of course is a Sarah Kay and the sentiment is computer generated and the hearts I made myself from the paper.
We will be having a very exciting night to celebrate - going to a rugby meeting!!!!

Simon Says Challenge and Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge
Hi everyone - I hope you have had a lovely weekend.
We had a very much "rugby" weekend. We had our amateur game on the Saturday - my husband did not play but my son did.
On Sunday we travelled to Warrington to watch the Grand Final. We watched two games. The first one was Keighley Cougars against Oldham. I used to be a very staunch supporter of Keighley but have fallen by the wayside although my son, Richard, still goes. They were playing in a final for promotion and won by 2 points. At the end some of the fans ran on the pitch and Richard ran on but fell over the barrier (how embarassing!!!) and then it showed him on the tele congratulating some of the players.
The second match was our local team, Halifax, playing for the Championship against Barrow, and they lost. We had actually gone on one of the Halifax coaches so there was a lot of disappointed people. Years and years ago when my husband was in his twenties he had trials with Halifax but his eyesight let him down on the 3rd game and they did not sign him. Barrow offered him a game and he played one game for them but it was too far to travel so stuck to amateur rugby after that.
Back to card making. I made this card for the Whiff of Joy challenge and then realised that I had used a Magnolia Stamp - it must be my age!! I have decided now that I can enter it in the
Simon Says Challenge, which is to use Red and Green, and also in the Spoonful of Sugar
Challenge for which the theme is Christmas.
thank you for looking

Sketch and Stash Challenge
Good Evening,
Just time for this post before I watch Coronation Street. I don't know what has happened to this card but I had a go at brushing some distress ink onto the white background. I tried it first on two scrap images using "Worn Lipstick" (that is the name of the ink I used, not some old lipstick!!). I did it last night and today when I came to put the card together the ink has gone a strange colour whilst the ink on the scrap pieces has remained pink!! Isn't that rather strange?
So here is the card anyway. I have used an old House Mouse stamp that I have had for some time but could never colour it properly until I got my Copic Markers.
The paper is by Basic Grey and the card is for the Sketch and Stash Challenge.
Thank you for looking, must dash.

Friday Sketchers Challenge
I have been quite busy today but I did find time to finish yet another card that I had started and not finished
Here is my card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge
The stamp is (quite obviously) Sarah Kay, I have used Prima flowers and the paper is, I think, by Bo Bunny.
Tomorrow morning I will be going on my camera class again so I hope it is better than the last two weeks!!
bye for now.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge
On Sunday I was in the middle of making two cards for challenges when a neighbour came round and asked if I could make a card for her "Auntie Carol, who is 65 and likes Crown Green Bowling"!!!! I don't know about you but I hate it when people ask me for something like that. I think it is really stressful.
I am trying out a card but it won't have anything to do with Crown Green Bowling on it.

Anyway I have finished my card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge - and here it is.
Hope you like it!
Must dash - we are going out for tea to a friend's house - they are making pie and peas which, unfortunately, will not go down very well with my diet!!

Davids Birthday
Good morning everyone.
The other thing that I made, with matching papers to the card, was a little box with Thorntons Choccies in. The boxes are from Craftwork Cards and you just decorate them yourself. I don't know if they still stock them because I have had mine at least a year.
I just thought I would let you have a look at the things I made for my husband's birthday.
The first is the card - but I am only showing you the front of it, the photo and the verse are a bit personal. The papers I used were by Basic Grey
I also made a little wallet with a photo in and a gift card. I made one like this ages ago but don't know where I got the tutorial from. I rather liked it.

This is the outside - the "Just for You" stamp is from Julie who is a demonstrator for Stampin Up.

Just Magnolia Challenge
Oooh it can't be bad - two posts in one day. I thought I had missed the deadline for this card but it is 10pm tonight so I am alright.
Here is my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge.
I can't remember where I have got the papers from - it must be old age because I have only just bought them.
The sentiment is a stamp from Julie at Stampin Up and I have used Copics.
Hope you like the card - I am going to use it for a certain someone who has a birthday soon!!

Papertake Challenge
Just a quick post before I dash off for my photography course - hope it is better than last week!!
This is a card that I have done for The Papertake Challenge.
The papers I have used are (I think) from The Hobby House - I got them at Harrogate.
The image is, of course, a very popular one from Funky Kits.
Must dash now, thank you for looking.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge
Today is my husband's birthday - I won't tell you how old he is!!
I have made him one or two little things for his birthday but I won't show you them till later in the week.
Yesterday my niece called round with her two boys - Ethan & Austin - and Austin walked a step from the coffee table to the settee - he isn't 10 months old yet!! I think he is going to be a right little monkey.
I have made a card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge - I started it last week and thought I would get in early with it (for a change) but then I never got round to doing the image until yesterday.
Anyway here it is
The paper is from the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection and the stamp is from Funky Kits.
Please feel free to leave a comment - I love to hear from anyone who stops by to look at my blog
thank you

A multi purpose card
Good afternoon everyone.
I made a card last night using the sketch from Unscripted Sketches. I used Basic Grey papers so I thought it would also do for the Basic Grey Challenge, and I also used the colours Lavender, Soft Blue and Cream so that also fits in with the Roses on Paper Challenge. I put some faux stitching round the image which ties it in with the Papertake Challenge. So you see it is a multi purpose card - and here it is.
hope you all have a good weekend

Sketch and Stash Challenge.
Well I am back from this morning's photography class. Another waste of time. Why is it that I book these classes only to be disappointed? It was supposed to be about getting more out of your camera but all we did was mess about on the computer.
I walked down there and then went to Tesco and walked back - the journey back took me nearly an hour and a half. My feet hurt that much I could have cried. I was so relieved to get home. I didn't get any sympathy from my husband he just said that I was soft and it served me right for walking back. I don't know what is the matter with my feet but sometimes they are very painful. I suppose it is old age!!!
Never mind. On to my card which is for the Sketch and Stash Challenge
I have used my new stamp from Funky Kits and the paper is by Basic Grey.
I am going to give the card to my husband's niece - it is her birthday on the 19th, the day after Andrew's birthday (Andrew is her dad).
Next week is my husbands birthday so I will have to get cracking with that.
must dash, lots to do.

Another quick post today, just to show you the card that I have done for my brother-in-law, Andrew, whose birthday is on Friday.
I have used Wild Asparagus paper from My Mind's Eye and I have decorated the inside (but I forgot to take a photo of that)

Sketch Saturday Challenge
Feeling quite tired and ready for an early night now after going to Harrogate today.
The traffic was terrible through Leeds both on the way there and the way back.
I am just going to unpack my stash and see what I have bought at the Show. I don't know what anyone else who went thought but I have to say that I was slightly disappointed. I had really looked forward to going but found very little to spend my money on. There were a lot of stalls missing and the ones that had taken their place seemed to be "not my type of stall" - I will leave it at that.
Here is my card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge. The papers, I am sure you will know by now are from the My Mind's Eye range. I have actually used papers from the 6x6 pack but I do not think they are as good as the 12x12 ones.
I hope you don't think I am a bit of a moaner today.
thank you for looking

Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza
Good evening. Just a quick post tonight, first of all to ask how many of you are going to the Papercrafts Extravaganza at Harrogate this weekend?
I shall be going on Sunday with my sister Kath and I am really looking forward to it - I always do.
Secondly to show you (eventually) the card that I made for my Grand-daughter, Florence (Flo) for her birthday in August.
I used one of the Colour my World Templates - well more than one because I got the letters from different templates and just made them fit together.
This is the front but it looks like there is something missing from the centre of the big pink flower - a circlular Happy Birthday sentiment.
I used this stamp because we were once at my son's house and Florence found a little watering can and kept taking it to Paul for him to fill it up - the garden was drowned by the time she had finished.
I used this Magnolia stamp because Florence likes to go out on a bike - not hers, she sits behind her daddy.
And finally this stamp because they had just returned from their holiday in Turkey and Florence loved on the beach and in the sea.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at my blog and to anyone who is going to Harrogate, have a great day out - I will!!
luv
