A New Challenge Blog

A really quick post today as I am dashing about getting ready to go to my son's at Newark.
My husband, two sons and my son-in-law will then be going to Newark Beer Festival!
So I will get down to the main subject, which is the card I have made for a new challenge - Hidden Treasures, the theme for which was Pink & Brown. I have used the sketch from the Sketch and Stash Challenge so again it is two challenges and one card.

It is the first time I have used the tiny rosebuds so haven't managed to get them just right - as usual I was in a rush.
The stamp is Lili of the Valley and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The papers are from Pink Petticoat.
thank you for looking - back again after the weekend.
Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday - although it is raining at the moment here.

Just Cute Bears Challenge

Just another quickie post - I am having a quick break from making Wedding Invitations.
Here is my card for the Just Cute Bears Challenge.
I love this little teddy bear - and the colour combo.
Teddy, of course, is from Lili of the Valley (I have used him before) who have such cute stamps - I think I must have most of them.

Speaking of Teddies - I bought myself a little Irish Teddy whilst we were over there on holiday, he is cute as well. Well I suppose I had better get back to the invites. Thank you for looking

What is Happening!!!

I don't know what has happened to my computer but when I go into a new tab on the internet something has changed. It used to show pictures of various websites I had visited and I would just click on one of them to go to that website but now it just comes up with Google things.

Then Blogger came up different - not with the usual page and I couldn't find the settings or anything so I messed about and now my Norton seems to have disappeared.
It could be a long night!!

Well back to cards and here is one for Friday Sketchers - I have used their sketch - but I also used some dotty paper so I thought I would use a Penny Black Stamp and then it would do for Saturday's Penny Black Challenge as well.

The little mouse looks rather full doesn't he? Cutie.
Talking of cute - my grand-daughter came up yesterday with my daughter and my niece brought her two children as well. They are all so cute.
That's all for now, I will have to do a bit more messing about.
thank you for looking.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Good Afternoon everyone.

Hasn't it been a fantastic weekend?? According to the weathergirl last night the weather is supposed to break tomorrow so we will wait and see.

I got my hanging baskets done yesterday so I can't wait to get them out because my greenhouse is rather crammed.

We had a barbecue both Saturday and Sunday, which was nice because my husband insists that it is a man's job to cook on the barbecue so that gave me a bit of a break. (I have just broken off from this post to go and check the pork chops I am grilling and I have burnt my finger!!!)

Anyway here is my card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge and I have to say that my husband actually liked it - which is quite unusual.

hope you like it too.

Two More Challenges

Just a very quick post to show you the card below which I started to make for the
Stamp with Fun Challenge - which was stripes - so I have used a bit of stripey paper.

I then thought I would combine it with Saturday's Penny Black Challenge which was flowers.
The DP has flowers on it and the image has a flower and I have put some roses on - so it has plenty of flowers.

The Papers are from Stampin Up and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The image is, of course, Penny Black. Penny Black were my very first favourite stamps - they are so cute, and I love cute!!
have to dash.

Two Challenges - One Card

Good afternoon everyone - I am absolutely melting here, it is so hot.
Only a quick post as I am busy, busy, busy.

Here is my card which will do for both the Papertake Challenge and for the Sketch & Stash Challenge.

The Papertake Challenge was "Say it with Flowers" and the Sketch and Stash Challenge was a Sketch.
I think there are enough flowers to qualify for the Papertake Challenge and I have used my new papers for the Sketch and Stash Challenge and followed the sketch.

The papers are Basic Grey "Green at heart"
The stamp of course is Tilda and the Sentiment is from Stampin Up.
I really love the orangey colours.
thank you for looking - I hope to be back tomorrow with another card.
enjoy the weather while it lasts!!

Create 4 Fun Challenge

Wow! what a hot day it has been today.
I have spent most of it doing jobs but did get out in the garden for a couple of hours and was absolutely roasted. I hasten to add that I was gardening and not sunning myself!!

I nipped over to Julies yesterday to collect some paper/card and she said "I will be looking on your blog to see what you have done with it" or words to that effect.
Well here is one for you Julie - it is for the Create4Fun Challenge.

I have used the new papers that I got from Julie in the ribbon and paper share.
I think the stamp is a Gillian Roberts one from Hobby House and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I have coloured the image using both copics and promarkers.

Thank you for looking - please feel free to leave me a comment (at least then I know someone has had a peek)
Just going to nip back out in the garden to put some string up for my peas - it absolutely kills my hip but it has to be done.

Anyone for Anya Challenge

I have actually got round to making a card - round being quite a good word actually for this card.
The Anyone for Anya Challenge was "Don't be Square" so I thought I would do a round card. Then I thought I would have a go at making it an easel card - so here is the finished card

The papers, and the ribbon, are from Stampin Up and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The image is coloured with Copics.
I have got some new Stampin Up goodies so will try and do a card using those.
thank you for looking

Back Again!!

Hi there. Another quick post to say that I am back again from my holidays - if you can call it that.
We did not have to get up at 4am the next morning but we were left waiting until the afternoon to find out that we would not be going to Madeira.
After discussing where to go instead, my husband decided on getting the ferry over to Ireland - which I was not at all happy about doing because I thought I would be sea sick.
We had to leave home at 5.30am the next day to catch the 10am ferry from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire. We arrived at our hotel in Dublin at 2.30pm. We both took travel sickness tablets and survived the ferry (both ways).

We spent a night at Dublin and then drove to Galway and had two nights there - driving down the coast to see the river Shannon during the day.
On Saturday we went through Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford to reach Wexford where we stayed overnight before travelling back for the ferry the next day.
It has been a very tiring holiday because all we seem to have done is travel around.

I really love Irish Music and my husband loves his Guiness but we were both very disappointed. I never found these pubs that everyone tells me about that have Irish Music and David never found the fabulous pint of Guiness that everyone tells him he must try. The ones he had were just the same as what he drinks over here.

I think we have finished with holidays now until the end of the year so I must knuckle down to doing some cardmaking.

Thanks for looking

I'm Back!!

Just a quick post to let you know that I am now back home - at least for the time being.
We arrived at Manchester Airport at 6am today for our 8 o'clock flight only to be told to wait in arrivals for an update at 8am. At 8am they told us to wait until 9.45am and then they told us to go upstairs to the Thomas Cook desk. When we got there we were told to go home because the flight had been indefinitely postponed. We would not be going today and they will telephone us when we have to go back to the airport.

By now we should have been in sunny Madeira but instead we are in cold, rainy Yorkshire.

I just hope I don't have to get up at 4.00 in the morning again!!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Well this is my final card before I go off on holiday - that is, volcano permitting. I keep hearing that some flights have been cancelled and, looking at Manchester Airport tonight, the flights to Munich are all cancelled - but hopefully we will be flying!!

Here is my card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

Sorry if the picture is not too good but I had to take it in my room tonight and the light is not too brilliant.
Another cute little bear from Lili of the Valley.
Hopefully this will be me this week with my glass of sangria and my crossword book, soaking up the sun but hopefully not getting burnt this time!
The papers and the card are from Stampin Up, the designer paper is Bella Bleu.
It wasn't until after I had finished it and looked at it properly that I thought I should have used Cream Cardstock and stamped onto cream card. But it is too late now!
Hope you like the card and I will be back in a weeks time.

Sketch & Stash Challenge

Looks like I was too late for the last challenge - it is because I am so lazy at taking photos.
Oh well, never mind, I will make sure I am not too late for this one.

This card is for the Sketch & Stash Challenge and I have used my new Nestabilities - they only arrived the other day.
I haven't used this Magnolia stamp before either.
That is all I have to show you at the moment - I don't know whether I will get to make another card before Monday, but I will try.

Thank you to my new Follower - Jules - for following me and for your comments, and thank you to everyone who has left me a comment.

Friday Sketchers

I don't know if I am too late for this challenge or if it is a fortnightly one.
I have had a very busy day doing all my cleaning and gardening ready for going away on Monday. Luckily the weather held out and I managed to get my washing dry.

Here is my card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

The stamp is another one from Lili of the Valley - little teddy is so cute isn't he?
I remember a tale about a little teddy and I wonder if Our Kath remembers it too!!
My teddy had got so tatty and kept coming apart at the seams so my mum said she would buy me a new one and have that one "put to sleep". I agreed to it and got a lovely new teddy but then woke up one morning and wanted my old teddy back. Me and Kath put our clothes on over our jim jams and ran on to my grandad's house. I was in tears and Grandad said "what on earth is the matter?" I told him I wanted my teddy back and he said to my mum "give the child her teddy back". She couldn't because she had burnt it.
Here comes the funny part - I was about 11 at the time!!!
Mind you that isn't as bad as the time when I wanted my teddy christening and my mum even asked the vicar if I could have it christened. It still sends me into hysterics when I think about it.
Have to go now - Coronation Street is on.
Back soon

Just Magnolia Challenge.

Good Evening everyone ( or anyone who takes a peek at my blog)
Another quick post I am afraid.

My husband has had me scanning and printing some invoices and it has taken absolutely ages. Why is it that men always think that their jobs are far more important than ours?

I am so very pleased with this card that I have made for the Just Magnolia Challenge.

I love this stamp and I was quite pleased with how the oval border has turned out (although I did have to put the flowers where the pattern didn't quite match up!!)
I am working on another card now (in between trying to do everything else as well!) so I may be back again tomorrow if I manage to get it finished in time.
Take Care.

Here Comes Summer!

Well I don't think so really, do you? (Although I am getting ready for going on holiday on Monday providing the planes haven't all been cancelled.)

That is actually the theme for the Lili of the Valley Challenge so I have done a barbecue. No, not literally, just a picture of a barbecue - and here is my card.

The papers are from Craft Creations and the little silver oval is from Stampin Up.
Sorry this is only a quick post but I have lots to do.
Back again tomorrow with another card for you - it is one of my favourites!
