A Threesome!

Now don't be rude, it is not what you are thinking!!!

I have made a card using the sketch at Sketch Saturday and once again using one of the Lili of the Valley Die Cuts (it saves on colouring). I noticed over at Totally Paper Crafts that the Challenge was an easel card with a male theme so I thought this card would do for that as well.
At Hidden Treasures there has to be a ribbon on your card, which I have used on the base and on the middle of the card, so this card qualifies for all three challenges - that is what I mean by a Threesome!
The DP is some that I have had for ages and I am not sure what it is.
The silver thingies are from Craftwork Cards and I have used a Martha Stewart Deep Border punch.

What a hot day it has been today - at least I have got all my washing dry and just need to iron it, my favourite job!!!
Tonight it took me nearly an hour to water the garden and the hanging baskets.
I am going to have a sit down and a pot of coffee now.

Simon Says and Cupcake Challenge

I have had a very busy few days.

First of all I was gardening on Saturday and fell coming out of the greenhouse so I have two very sore knees!

On Sunday I met my daughter and we went to Stamp Magic at Doncaster. We usually like to take our time and have a good look round but we were stuck in traffic for half an hour getting there and we wanted to be back for the football - well that was a waste of time wasn't it??

Yesterday my daughter and grand-daughter came up and we went to visit Claire's grandad in hospital, but he is not very good. After school my niece came with her two children so they were all playing out in the garden, which was nice.

Today I am feeling absolutely shattered and in much need of a rest.
Anyway enough waffling here is my card for the Simon Says Challenge, which is Friends, and also for the Cupcake Challenge which is a sketch.

Once again I have used a die cut from Lili of the Valley (who were at the show at Donnie) and the DP is some that I have had for absolutely ages.
Thank you for taking the time to look - if you like what you see, please leave a comment.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Good afternoon - it has been a bit of a funny day today weather wise, I thought it was going to rain at one point.

Tonight we are going out for a meal to the local amateur rugby league presentation night so no card making for me!!

My daughter sent me a text today to say that they were at casualty nearly 4 hours last night with Miss Florence (who is nearly 3!). She had been playing with some money and decided to swallow a 1p piece. They were not sure whether or not she had actually swallowed it or just said she did but they did an x-ray at the hospital and they could see it in her tum. She is getting to be a right little monkey.

Here is my card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge - again I have used one of their die cuts.

All the papers are from Stampin Up and so is the card actually. The ribbon is from my stash.

Unfortunately I have to go and do some ironing now. Have a lovely weekend - enjoy the footie, I hope we win.

Friday Sketcher meets Saturday Secret Crafter

Sorry but this is another quickie!!
I have just made this card tonight - it went together like a dream. Isn't it strange how you get cards like that and others take ages and you are not really satisfied with them.
I saw that the Secret Crafter Challenge was to do a card for a Wedding/Anniversary and thought I would use this die cut from Lili of the Valley. I then decided to follow the sketch from the Friday Sketchers Challenge. So here is the card.
I have to say that I really love it and I hope you do too.

One Card - Two Challenges.

Wow!! Fantastic!! What a game!!
I feel shattered now - after watching England - thank goodness they won. I must say I always think they play better in red but it is not one of the best strips I have seen.
When my son Richard was little he used to collect the stickers for the World Cup (to stick in a sticker book) so I used to know all the players for the different teams but now I don't know any of them hardly - except for Rooney. That is Rick's nickname because everyone thinks he looks like Rooney.

Anyway here is my card for two different challenges. First is the Colour Create Challenge and the colour is Ribena so I used this purpley colour from Stampin Up (as are the papers). The second challenge is The Sugar Bowl, which was the sketch that I have followed.

The Stamp is one of the Gorjuss girls from Funky Kits - I know it is silly but these gorjuss girls always remind me of Maria out of Coronation Street!
The papers, as I have said, are from Stampin Up and so is the ribbon.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking and I hope you are all looking forward to watching England on Sunday afternoon.
Oh No! I have just remembered it is The Dome at Doncaster on Sunday - perhaps we might have to go in the morning instead.

Sad News!!

Just have to tell you that I was reading the local paper last night and was very sad to see the death of a lady called Hilary.

When I went for my first session of chemo in August 2007 Hilary was sat in the chair across from me and we spoke and I said to her "I see you haven't lost your hair then" and she said that she was wearing a wig. I was really shocked because it just didn't look like one. I saw her a few times after that and then when we had both finished our treatment I used to bump into her in various places - usually Tesco.

Unfortunately she died last week. I know that she had quite a rare form of cancer and I don't think many people had survived it longer than 3 years but it is still sad news. She was only 61.

Stampavie and More Challenge

Hi everyone - hasn't it been a fantastic day again today - it has been so hot.
I forgot to mention yesterday (I was in such a rush) to say thank you to Kelli at
Hidden Treasures for picking me in third place in their challenge. Thank you.
Unfortunately I just missed the Spoonful of Sugar challenge last night so I hope I will be successful with this one tonight for the Stampavie and More Challenge tomorrow.

Here is my card using Princess Tilda coloured with Copics.
The paper is from Papermania (I think) and the roses of course from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Enjoy your evening.

Hidden Treasures Challenge

A very quick post in order to get my card submitted in time for the Hidden Treasures Challenge tomorrow.
The theme was Camping or Outdoors and seeing as I never, ever go camping it had to be something to do with outdoors so I decided on me and my husband riding our bikes. Then today we have just been for a game of golf so I could actually have done that instead. Never mind.
So without further ado - here is my card.

I hope you like it and thank you for looking.

Sketch Saturday

Just a quick post with my card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge - and here it is.
The paper is from Basic Grey again - Cappella - and the colours are Turquoise, Cream and Brown so this card would also qualify for the Basic Grey Challenge as well as the last card.
The image is one of the die cuts from Lili of the Valley - it is the first time I have used one - I think they are really nice.
The ribbon is from Stampin up and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking

Create4fun Challenge and Basic Grey Challenge

Well the weather is a bit different today from yesterday. It is now raining. How quickly it changes.

I have made a card for the Create4fun Challenge - which was a sketch. The only thing is there is supposed to be a bow on the ribbon and, although I did make one, I actually forgot to put it on!! Silly me!
I thought I would also enter it in Saturdays Basic Grey Challenge which was a colour combo - turquise, brown and cream. The background paper does actually have a turquoisy colour in it. It is from the Cappella pad.
Anyway here is the card and I think it looks better without the bow.

thank you for looking and please - don't just take a look, make my day by leaving a comment!
Enjoy your weekend and I hope England do better today than they did last Saturday.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Well what a relief!!
I went to the hospital yesterday and everything was fine - in fact the doctor said that my tumour counter had even come down a point since last time so that was even better. I wonder if it is anything to do with the fact that I have started taking Aloe Vera juice?

Anyway I only realized last night that I actually won the Create4fun challenge for the week 4th June to 11th June so that is great news as well. It must be a good week for me - I wonder what the third thing will be? Perhaps my daughter in law will have her baby!

Here is the card that I made for the Just Magnolia Challenge, which was a sketch.

The papers are from Stampin Up.
I really liked the card until I put the flowers on and then I think I have gone a bit over the top with them - I don't know!
Anyway I hope that you like it.
Hasn't it been hot today? I went for a walk down to my sisters this morning and then I have been in the garden most of the day.
I'm going to go and have a cuppa now and a sit down, then I will have to do some ironing and make the tea (all boring stuff!!).
Back tomorrow.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Hi there.

Just a very quick post this morning because I am going to have my lunch, then a shower (2nd today) and then off to the hospital - so I am feeling very nervous at the moment.

I just wanted to show you my card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge.

I love these little girly stamps and I also love the paper which is from DCWV
hope you like them too.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Do you ever find something on a blog and think how lovely it is and you would like to have a go at it? Well I found a lovely gift bag all nicely decorated and I have spent hours looking for it and of course I just cannot find it again can I?

We had a lovely day on Sunday - we went for a meal out to celebrate my son Paul's birthday. When we had finished our meal my little grand-daughter, Florence (who is nearly 3) started singing "Happy birsday to you - come on Mam-ma, happy birsday to you - come on grandad, happy birsday dear Paw Paw, happy birsday to you" Everyone in the pub were watching and smiling and our Paul actually blushed. She was so cute.
She has been up today (which is why I am quite tired tonight) to see her great grandad in hospital and she was very well behaved.

Speaking of the hospital, I go tomorrow for my check up so I am a bit nervous at the moment. I keep trying to tell myself to be positive!!

Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge.

The papers are from Kaiser Craft and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking - back tomorrow with another card.

Hidden Treasures Challenge

Well isn't that typical of England? All that hype and build up and then they can only draw against USA. All the money that these footballers are on and they can't even kick a ball into the net!!
Well we won't dwell on that too long.
I have had a lovely day out today at Boundary Mills at Colne. I collect Portmerion Pottery and there was quite a bit of it on sale at - would you believe - 75% off. Of course I just had to buy quite a bit of it whether I needed it or not - it was such a bargain.

Tomorrow we are going to Chesterfield to go out for a meal with my son and his wife and my daughter, her husband and my gorgeous Florence. It is my son's birthday on Tuesday.

On the card front I have had quite a time with this card for the Hidden Treasures Challenge. This is a new challenge and has not had many entrants yet so please hop over to the blog and take part in the challenge. The challenge was to make a circle card. Not so long since I made a circle easel card and it seemed so easy to do that I thought I would do one again.

I got out my Martha Stewart Circle cutter and cut a circle card out - but it didn't turn out just right so after a couple of attempts I decided to change the blade. I now have a plaster on my thumb and one on my forefinger where I managed to stab myself with the blade.
I gave in and decided to do this one using nesties.
So after a lot of trouble - here is my card.

the base card is from Stampin Up and the DP is from a new pack of papers that I bought and I just loved the colours in it.
Of course the image is Penny Black.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I must say that the service is fantastic - I ordered something one day and it arrived the next day.

Multi Challenge Card

Just a quick post now before I get the tea ready.
Here is the card I have made for my husband's nephew's birthday next week.

I have made if for various challenges
Firstly I used the sketch for todays Truly Scrumptious Challenge - which means I am very early with that as well.

Then I used the colours Orange, Blue and Black, which are the colours for this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge.

And then I thought that seeing as there was some dotty paper on there I would enter it for the Stampavie and More Challenge. So you see - three for the price of one.

Papertake Challenge

Good Afternoon! Well the weather is not so good here at the moment - it is pouring down. At least that is an excuse to stop in and get some crafting done.
Here is my card for this weeks Papertake Challenge - and for once I am very early with this card, which makes a change.

The Challenge was a sketch but also if possible to use the colours Lilac & Lemon, which I have used.
The papers are Pink Petticoat and the stamp is from - guess who??? That's right, Lili of the Valley.
I was just in the middle of making this card when a distant relative of my husband's rang from Canada and told us that he has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer - which makes him about the 3rd person I know with that. He is still waiting for a scan to see if it has spread to his bones but he is scheduled to have an operation on the 4th of August - which seems a long time to have to wait.
Anyway I hope he will be OK.
thank you for looking and I hope you like the card.
back shortly with another card

Truly Scrumptious and Create4Fun

Before I get down to cards I would just like to say that my youngest son, Richard, received a cup at our Rugby Presentation Night for Most Improved Player.
He hasn't played much in the past but has played most of this season - when selected.

I will have to tell him to grow a beard because I notice Wayne Rooney has one and everyone says he looks like him (don't know if that is good or bad but I wish he had his money!!!)

Back to cardmaking and here is my card for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge - a sketch - and the Create4Fun Challenge - which was to use black, white and one other colour.

The Papers are by Bo Bunny and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The stamp is one of the new ones from Lili of the Valley - I just love their stamps, they are so cute!!

Last night at tea time we had one of my first veg from the garden - some Pak Choi that I grew from seed. I think at the end of the week I might be able to pick a few peas (my favourites).

Hope to be back soon.

Simon Says & Friday Sketchers

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to my new followers for joining me - and also thank you to the rest of my followers who continue to support me. As I have said many times, I really do appreciate it. Thank you.
I have a couple of cards to show you today - both in seperate posts. This first one is for the Simon Says Challenge (which is to do a Male Card) and the Friday Sketchers Challenge - which is a sketch.

I think it is always hard to do male cards but I do love this stamp from Lili of the Valley.
The card is for my son, Paul - so I hope he isn't looking on my blog!!! It is his birthday next week and he is one year off the big 40 - that makes me feel old.
His wife, Col, is expecting a baby on the 7th of July (I think) but because a complication earlier on she might not go full term.
I have done an easel card and here it is stood up.
The papers are from DCWV, the stamp from Lili of the Valley and I have used Copics.
thank you for looking.

Monday Cupcake Craft Challenge

First of all I would like to say just how pleased I am to have won the Hidden Treasures Challenge. I am so happy about that - I was begining to feel that I wasn't going to win any more challenges.
I am afraid that this is a very quick post as I am feeling really tired but I just wanted to get this card on in time for the Monday Cupcake Craft Challenge.
The theme is Summer Delights and the instructions were "to make a card illustrating what summer means to you" - so that is what I have done.
Here is an image of me in my bikini ready for the beach - with my ice cream in my hand. Bliss!!!

Also the theme for the Wednesday Stampavie & More Challenge is Summer so this card is eligible for that Challenge as well. The Papertake Challenge is fun, fun, fun - summer fun, ie beach, so once again this qualifies for that as well.

Sorry if there are shadows etc and the photography is not very good but I had to take the photo in my craft room tonight. Also the large flower does not look the shade of green that it actually is.
Thank you for looking and I will be back soon.

Friday Sketchers

Just in time (once again) for this challenge - Friday Sketchers Challenge. I always seem to be last minute.
I have been out in the garden all day but just managed to finish this card off in time.

Sorry to use the same colours again but I really like these papers from the Milton Pad.
We have our Rugby Presentation Night on Saturday so tomorrow I will have things to do to prepare for that.
Thank you for looking and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Just Magnolia

Back again, that was quick wasn't it.

Here is another card that I have made this evening - unfortunately the light wasn't too good for taking the photos so they are not perhaps as clear as they could have been.

I made this card using the sketch from Cute Cards and Stamps and the theme from
Just Magnolia Challenge - which was Hot and Spicy. I thought the colours of the paper were quite hot and spicy.
I have coloured the image with Copics and the DPs are from the Milton & Co Paper stack from the Glitter Pot
Hope you like both of today's cards. Hopefully I will be back again tomorrow with another card - if I am not too busy in the garden.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

I know I am a bit late but on the 21st May my friend's daughter had a little boy and I have only just got round to making her a card - how awful is that???
This is the card - and I have made it for the Lili of the Valley Challenge.

I had a lot of difficulty trying to find a nice baby blue colour - I used to have some paper by American Crafts which was ideal for babies but I don't think they make it anymore.
back in a tick with another card.
