Just Magnolia Challenge

Well I am back again with my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge.
But first of all I have one or two things I want to tell you.

Firstly I went to Kent last Monday and came back on the Friday - luckily before all the snow!
We stayed near Hever Castle (if you have heard of it) which was only a short drive from
The Craft Barn - which I visited twice. I also visited The Glitter Pot.

We were only 1/2 hour away from my cousin, Brian, so we visited him as well - I have not seen him for 3 years. Here we are at Devil's Dyke near the South Downs. His girlfriend is on the right of the picture. Can you believe he is 67 years old!!! I think he looks so young - or is that just me thinking that?
Anyway it was lovely to see him and meet Sandy (his girlfriend)

Now moving on to Friday's Just Magnolia Challenge which is a sketch.

and here is my card

The papers I have used are from a Dovecraft pad called NOEL.

The sentiment is one of the Lili of the Valley digital stamps and here is a close up of my flower which I have made using the Marianne dies.

The stamp is one of my favourite Magnolia stamps.

Thank you for looking - I have lost my signature again!!
Take care

I will be back later today with news from my short break..... and a card.

Mistletoe....without the wine!!

Back to blogging at last - I have had such a busy week. I don't know how people find time to work and do cards as well.

On Tuesday I met up with my daughter and grand-daughter in Doncaster - I went on the train and really enjoyed it.
We went Christmas shopping but I only bought a pair of slippers!!!

Wednesday was a bit of a messed up day.
Some friends had come up from Stroud and wanted to meet us for lunch.
My husband took time off work and we met at 12.30pm - they were wanting to be off at 1.10pm because he was going taking photos of a fire engine!!!!

Today started off well but then the car took 3 times to start.
I parked it at Sainsburys and when I went back I couldn't believe it - someone had bumped the wing. I was stood there swearing under my breath when I realized......it wasn't my car!
I think I should go back to bed.
Anyway back to card-making and here is the sketch for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge

and here is my card

I saw this Kenny K digital image on someone's blog and I absolutely loved it.

It is actually called Mistletoe Girl but she is holding a bunch of Holly.

I think I will be doing quite a few of these and I am sure it will be a hit with all the men - don't you think?

I don't know about anyone else but I keep having trouble with my spacing on blogger.
Anyway it is nearly weekend now - we have rugby tomorrow and I won't be around next week
so have a good weekend and a good week.

MY FIRST BLOG AWARD.

What a lovely Monday morning - we have some frost.
I am soooo tired this morning and a bit light headed. We went to Retford yesterday for David to do a job and had to leave home at 7.45am and didn't get back till just after 8pm. It was a long day - but enjoyable as I got to see my children and grandchildren.

Anyway back to the important news and that is that I am so excited as I have won a blog award.
It has been passed on to me by Claire at Claire's Crafty Corner - thank you very much Claire -and I have to say 3 things about myself and then pass it on to 5 other people (I think that is right!).
Then I have to display the Blog Award Badge in my sidebar and link it back to
Digi's with Attitude Blog and then I receive a $5.00 Digis with Attitude gift receipt.

So here are the 3 very uninteresting things about myself
1. I have been dieting most of my adult life but never lose any weight!!
2. I have gone from being very organised to being totally unorganised due to the fact that I spend so much time crafting.
3. I feel very lucky to be alive and try to enjoy every day.

Here are the 5 people I am going to pass the award on to.
1. Kath
4. Pami
Sorry that I can only pick 5 people
I think I have done everything now so I will put the badge on my blog and notify the people I have chosen.
Enjoy your day

Oh Dear.....

......too late again. I missed the Magnolia Down Under Challenge with my last card - I forgot that they are ahead of us in time.

This week's Pear Tree Challenge is a sketch.
and here is my card.

Tilda under the mistletoe - waiting for Prince Charming!!!

That's it now until Monday.

We have to go to Retford again tomorrow for a job my husband is doing - hopefully I will get to see the Grandchildren.

Home and Away

Good morning everyone - it is quite early on a Saturday morning for me to be blogging but my husband was up and off by 7.30am, so seeing as he had woken me up I thought I might as well get up and get stuck into Cardmaking!

You might be confused by today's title but I have made a card for the Just Magnolia Challenge - which was a lovely sketch by Donalda.
I have used the sketch for my card
but the challenge on Magnolia Down Under was to make your own Embellishments

which I have - so I am also entering the card in that challenge as well.

Just had to break off a few minutes to go and watch New Zealand doing the Haka - I love watching that.

The paper I used for this card is some that I have had at least a year or maybe two and never used it but I love it on this card - and of course I only had the odd sheet!!

Thank you for looking I will be back later with another card that I have made for a challenge for tomorrow - so I will have to be quick.

Early for a change...

.....but that is only by chance.
I made a card to the Basic Grey sketch and had nearly finished it when I realized that I hadn't used Basic Grey paper.
I know, I know - it is a sign of old age!!!

So I thought I would use the card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge because that is "Anything Goes" - so here is the card. I love this little Tilda - I wonder if she has got a nice present for me??

I managed to get my cleaning etc done yesterday so I have just some ironing to do today and I want to spend the rest of the day doing my own Christmas Cards.

I have made up a verse for the inserts and I am hoping to print them today as well (notice I say "hoping").
I am also hoping to do a bit of crafting tomorrow because we haven't got a rugby match and my husband is working.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend doing whatever you are doing.

Stamp Something Challenge

What a terrible day it is today and according to the weather forecast it will be worse as the day goes on.
I have to go into town later so I am not looking forward to that!!

This weeks Stamp Something Challenge was this sketch....

so I have used a really cute stamp that I got last year, I think it was, and I have never used it - I don't know why because it is really lovely.

The papers are also some from last year (or the year before) but I am not sure what make they are. And here is the card...

Thank you for looking and a big thank you to the NEW FOLLOWERS for following me.

Anything goes..

Just a very quick post today to show you my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge - which was anything goes.
You could also add pearls but I forgot about that until it was too late.
So here is the card.

I bought these cards perhaps a year ago from Whichcraft at Doncaster but I wish they had been pre-scored as I didn't do too good a job of getting it straight.
Thank you to everyone for all your lovely comments.
Must dash

Totally Gorjuss

Happy Tuesday everyone...I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

On Saturday my husband got a game of rugby (we were short) and he actually managed to score a try - brilliant - the first time in a couple of seasons.
At the end of last season he broke a couple of ribs.
I got a load of abuse from the other team's players because I told them, very nicely, that they had just been beaten by a 55 year old. They told me to shut up and stop mouthing off - which I wasn't doing, just stating a fact.

Back to the subject in hand -I have done a card for the Totally Gorjuss Challenge which is this sketch.

and here is my card - again using James the Bear.

I am sorry, I hope you are not getting too bored with James but he is so useful. I wonder what is in his cracker??

The papers are digital downloads and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thank you for looking - I must really try and get some cards done now.
I have had too many distractions the last few days so now I must catch up.

10th Wedding Anniversary

I forgot to say on my last post - that today is my Daughter and Son-in-Law's 10th Wedding Anniversary.
Happy Anniversary - although I don't think they will be looking on my blog.
They got married in a little chapel in Las Vegas and "Elvis" sung at the wedding.
For any of you who haven't seen the photo before - here they are on their Wedding Day.
From Left to Right - Elvis, my daughter Claire, son in law Steve, and the best man Sid.
We had a fantastic time there.
We stayed at Circus Circus along with my sister and brother in law and my younger son and his girlfriend.
Claire and Steve stayed at the Stratosphere and then the Luxor and my eldest son and his friends stayed at the Luxor.
thanks for looking

Truly Scrumptious...

......that is what I think of James the Bear

Here is the sketch for this week's Truly Scrumptious Challenge

which I have followed but forgot to put any petals, pearls or pins on the card - mind you the little white blobs look a bit like pearls don't they??
Here is my card, which I have to say I was quite pleased with.
I seem to be quite drawn to the colour and I have already set about making some more of these to send out.

As you all know by now the stamp is from Lili of the Valley and I have coloured James with Copics.
The papers are Digital ones.
That is all for now as I have to go and tackle a pile of ironing.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge

I don't know why I always seem to be last minute with my challenges - but here I am on the last day to post my card for the Crafts4Eternity Challenge. The Challenge is to include a Christmas Tree.

Now the greeny coloured paper that I used is by Bo Bunny and it did actually have Christmas Trees on - but of course you can't see them because they are covered up!!
Anyway Tilda does have a Christmas Tree so there you are...
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have been playing about with my photos trying out different things with them - the trouble is it is so time consuming.

I have been to have a look at a new camera today for taking my rugby pictures - I have had one published each week in our local weekly since the season started.
Haven't got the camera yet but it could be any idea for Christmas!!!
Thank you for looking.

Silent Night, Holy Night

Just another very quick blog to enter my card for the Just Magnolia Challenge - which is a sketch by Dawny P.

and here is my card.

The Magnolia stamp you may recognise - it is from last year but I really like it.

Sorry I will have to dash - I am just in the middle of making tea!

Trick or Treat??

Just a very quick post before I have to dash off to the hairdressers.

First of all a big thank you to the Trick or Treaters in our area - I would love to get my hands on you and show you a trick or two!!!

Secondly - here is my card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge, a lovely sketch from Bev.

I have used one of the Die Cuts from Lili of the Valley.
I must say that I am very disappointed that they have decided to showcase their new stamps at the NEC.
I think I must have nearly every one of their stamps and lots of their die cuts so I think perhaps a bit of loyalty to their loyal customers would have been better than making them available only to the people that can manage to get to the NEC.
But then that is just my view because I am disappointed.
